Chapter 80: Tower of Heaven Arc (2)

~Erza S. POV~

Ahh…

Nothing beats enjoying a well-earned vacation for a day with all expenses spent by a friend to get away from the craziness in our team.

Must hand it to Loke or is it Leo the Lion now for handing me a ticket at Akane Beach resort at the seaside having a suntan.

Lucy is having fun with the boys as they can't cause too much trouble. Shame Silva wasn't around I would've probably spoken to him to join but he seems to do his own thing.

Nothing to be ashamed of when Gray asked him to join our team but he refused. His reasoning was at the time that he needed to grind to become stronger.

While it's admirable to gain strength it's also important to develop bonds with others as being powerful is great but comes at the cost of being lonely alone on that path.

That's speaking from experience anyway.

Drifting my sunglasses down I sensed Natsu and Gray rising up their Magic Power against someone as I noticed Lucy coming towards me as I spoke, "Hello Lucy what did the boys do this time?"

She panted before finally responding to me with a nervous expression on her face, "Yeah… well you see Natsu and Gray thought it was funny to blindfold me into accidentally striking Silva while he had his eyes closed asleep…"

Raising an eyebrow at that I replied to her response in mild curiosity of this, "Really now? I have no doubt that Silva would be pissed knowing him. But then again, it's not something you get to see every day though?"

Standing up Lucy talks out confused as I point out that of all the members his the one that doesn't practically take in the casual brawl within the guild, "What I mean when have you seen Silva brawl against other members of the guild members? There's even a rumor that he fought against Mirajane and won in a fair fight even if by luck."

That caused Lucy to be stunned at the news processing before following me from behind, "Wait… like the Mirajane? The kind head bar mistress? I can't see that happening to be honest?"

I chuckled lightly at that remembering that Lucy didn't know Mira was formerly an S-Class Wizard in the past, "Perhaps to the now you wouldn't. But in the past, she used to go by her title as <The Demon> in her old days before…"

Stopping myself from repeating those events that took our family member from the guild I stopped myself instead changing the topic, "Whatever her reasons were it seems to me that she managed to regain her Magic Power again. Even trained against Silva and lost. Honestly, it kind of makes me happy even to hear the news."

Lucy looks at me baffled as she responds confused about the turn of events of Mira regaining her Magic Power, "Happy? Why? Did Mira act differently with the Magic that gave her the title as <The Demon>?"

Laughing lightly I talked to Lucy about our history surprised by how the Mira I spoke of in the past differed greatly from the current one.

In her younger years, Mirajane was known as The Demon, and before Lisanna's death, she used to be a very feared person, infamous amongst guilds and criminals alike.

Lucy looked in shock at the news as I continued explaining in a happy tone reminiscing of the past fondly, "She used to even dress in a punk-gothic style, and was rather temperamental and bad-mouthed everyone, especially me, with whom she had quite a rivalry with from when we were kids. Quite fond memories."

However, Lucy was shocked by the news as she soon asked what happened to Mira to change the way she did, "What…!! That sounds like nothing of the Mirajane I know… but if what you said is true then what changed her to be the one, I know today?"

Sigh…

Sighing out loud I decided to respond since it would be rude if Lucy brought this up by accident to Mira or Natsu since the Guild made it quite clear not to mention Lisanna's name out of respect for Natsu and the Strauss siblings.

Still in the end I explained to Lucy why Mira changed the way she did with evident shock on her face at the news solemnly nodding in understanding, "Due to a past incident involving the apparent death of her younger sister, Lisanna, Mirajane somehow lost much of her magical ability and her will to fight, and her personality changed drastically that day. Now, Mirajane is a loving and caring person who treats her friends, and even strangers, with kindness."

She slumps her head down but not before Lucy realizes why I'm happy about her return in genuine confusion, "Oh… but wait a minute? If that's the case, do you think Mira is finally moving on from the past then?"

Shaking my head I replied to her that the sudden change in Mira's demeanor seemed to relate to Silva shocking Lucy with the news, "No actually. I rather don't know much of the shift of Mira regaining her power but according to some of the members it involved Silva helping her."

Lucy merely crosses her arms pondering on how Silva managed to do what the whole guild couldn't help Mira regain her strength again.

We all thought Mira would never be the same or become her old self again. Despite how kind Mira is now a part of me missed the rivalry we once shared showing her real self like the good old days.

Once again Silva's reliability and his own strength somehow manage to make the impossible possible. Maybe I should learn what happened from the man himself.

According to Lucy, he said to be around here –

"AH!!"

"I PROMISE TO NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!"

My thoughts were soon interrupted as Gray was drooling ice and Natsu was drooling flame suffering from his motion sickness on a moving Glyph with ice stuck in place moving ever so slightly.

Silva's eyes dart towards Lucy as she hides behind pleading mercy in a scared tone, "Silva please I apologize already! It was Natsu and Gray's fault for making me hit you!"

Gazing his eyes towards me he seemed to take in a deep breath before finally responding back putting away what seemed to be an ice make paddle as Lucy unconsciously rubs her rear, "Fine… I cooled off after giving these two their punishments 25 minutes ago. You are glad your rear isn't going to be red with spankings. Hmph!"

"Epp!"

"Oh my!"

Hearing a noise from Lucy protecting her rear from Silva's threat I gazed my eyes at someone else voicing out in a blue blur but perhaps it was my imagination.

Shaking my head Lucy voices out with a blush on her face being defiant and standing behind me like a child arguing back, "That's sexual harassment! It was merely a small accident bonking you on the head… I apologized already…"

Silva for his part merely shrugged arguing back at her the choice of punishment if he had caught her with a valid point, "Perhaps… but you went full force smacking me on a head like a watermelon! You were lucky to take my warning seriously with either one of two choices. Get punished with your rear spanked till it was red or I use the <Changeling> spell to make you switch bodies? I wonder which one you would've chosen?"

I mentally paled at the punishment of the choice of punishment shivering recalling my time becoming Happy…

Those were the darkest days I had ever experienced.

Lucy was shivering like a leaf before Silva looked at Gray in Natsu's body mumbling in pain from his motion sickness, "Fuck… can't take – Umpoosh…!"

Not able to withstand Natsu's motion sickness as Gray suffers and Natsu in Gray's body is chilling all over arguing back, "Come on man can't take a joke…! Damn, I'm freezing up here… We apologize already and we promise to not do it again!"

Closing his eyes opening one slightly asking in curiosity, "Promise?"

They both nodded as Silva sighed and was about to undo the <Changeling> spell but paused before asking the both of us, "Right… Erza and Lucy can you both move out of the way? Don't want you in the crossfire."

Right…

Moving away to a safe distance Silva undone the spell causing Gray and Natsu both to return to their normal and high-tailed it out of here followed by Lucy.

Shaking my head at the 3 managed to enrage the one person in the guild that uses his brains more than brawn at times.

Although now that I have the chance, I was wondering how Mira regained her power again as I asked Silva catching him off guard, "Say Silva would you mind spending some of your time with me? I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions if you don't mind?"

He seemed to have paused not expecting a question but shrugged with a neutral expression agreeing as we both walked along the beach, "Uh sure. No problem, Erza so what's up?"

Getting direct to the point I asked what exactly happened with Mirajane to cause her to change back to the one, I knew in her teen years, "From what I heard you managed to help Mira regain her Magic Power again? I was wondering how exactly that happened?"

He seemed to have paused at that before giving me an answer in a soft tone, "I'm afraid not. It's not really my place to say you can ask Master though. He should give you the details or Mira herself if able."

Understanding in a nod I can ask them if it's too impolite for Silva to answer.

Although there is another rumor going around that causes me to be challenged with her…

There are rumors going around that Mirajane might be interested in Silva if the rumors by the guild members are to be credited.

Then that means Mirajane is challenging me in the affairs of love!

Usually, I would simply ask directly to Silva if he was going with Mirajane but then a certain passage in my knowledge of love novels came to mind.

More specifically the hit love novel written by Jack Nights called the 'Ninja's of Love' wanted to promote his wife's love for the book throughout the ages.

Such a dedicated author but because of that love novel it helped me remember a sentence recalling a paragraph in the perfect knowledge of love novels I read as guidance from the male protagonist in these exact words.

'Hm? Is something the matter? As far as I remember, it was fine for a single man to go on dates.'

Yes.

How could I be so foolish to forget?

It's perfectly reasonable for a male to have multiple dates since we haven't exactly cemented the fact we're a couple in fact, I don't believe we have ever gone on a quest together either to prove that fact.

And Mirajane is taking advantage of this fact. A fact that she's challenging me for Silva's heart to think my rival would be this underhanded!

Just as I expected of my former rival!

Perhaps her regaining not only her Magic Power but also her personality is showing. This must be the sign of her doing from my former rival not in power but in the romance of love itself!!

Truly something diabolical of her former persona would've done. If it's a challenge for Silva's heart you want it's a challenge you will certainly get!

Erza Scarlet is no quitter and I won't lose to you!!
