Chapter 12: The Grind (4)
~Silva POV~
Returning back to my apartment room with the hot water in my bathroom I have the chance of taking a small deep moaning feeling the nice hot bath needed after the bullshit encounters, I have gone through.
*Splash*
Ohhhh….
That hits really good feeling hot water wrap around me like this feeling all the sweat and debris wash away from me making me feel good.
I truly understand why Lucy likes going on warm baths and the pain of someone just interrupting your me time.
Taking the time, I began to finally check out the new skills I received from that small encounter with that annoying wolf to see on my Skill List as I rub the soap on my person keeping myself nice and clean.
Shame I couldn't take the wolf body but then again I don't know where I would even sell it, to begin with, and I have no idea how to carry it around me unless by hand to which would pretty much disturb the people here or not.
Damn... I need an inventory item or skill soon...
Skill List.

I could only smile looking at the skills I gained but I know I can do better I just need to train more to get better results.
Maybe a bit more skills and effort into the grind is all I need before handling my first mission in the guild.
Maybe I should go looking into different Holder Type Magic since I could have some more reliable items and variety for me to use when I run low on MP since I can't use Magic properly yet.
*Splash*
Thoughts for later what I want right now is to rest in peace a bit longer in the tub full of hot water with bubbles around me.
And besides that, though…
[<Cage> LEVEL UP!]
[<Cage> LEVEL UP!]
[<Cage> LEVEL UP!]
I've been playing around with my skills leveling them up here playing with the bubbles or water near me around or on my person storing the Mana to test the waters with my <Cage> skill. Plus, the perks of heightening my senses I smiled at the progress being made, but all are needed for the grind.
Now onto the next skill I need to focus on next which requires excellent Mana control for me to exert Magical Pressure next.

The next day came as I began my morning workout of finishing up my training for my daily quest with the usual screen popping up immediately completing the training conditions for the quest. "Whew…! I'm working up a sweat in the early morning but worth it."
[Quest Completed]
[Please choose the following rewards:
-Reward #1: Status Recovery
-Reward #2: Stat Points +3
-Reward #3: Random Item Box]
[Ding!]
[You picked Reward #2!]
[You have received +3 bonus stats!]
[Ding!]
[You picked Reward #3!]
[You gained a Small Salve your person!]
Taking the moment to relax save my stamina and healing naturally outside one of the buildings of showing off the item I'm seeing.
The item in question takes an appearance of a small green jar popping out of nowhere I used <Observe> on it to see more info about it.
<Observe>.
----
Item: Small Salve
Rarity Item: D
Type: Small Jar
Description: Restore the HP of one ally by 25%.
----
Huh?
Blinking at this I returned this back into my bag seeing I have a literal healing potion, or I guess healing Salve in case I need it for an emergency. I wonder how it will work in reality that it came from [THE GAMER] abilities.
But then again, I could try getting an Alchemist Skill to help me out better. Might not be a bad idea to try it out but that's for later down the road.
*Grumble*
Feeling a bit hungry I decided to get something to eat before I continue sightseeing around Magnolia Town before I go off training again. I really need to increase my issue with cash soon enough.
Feeling I have enough to go around Magnolia Town for something to eat before resuming my training again with Mana control as I try to get better at using it. My attention was now looking at my status screen intently with me trying to put together which stats I think that's worth spending my stat points on something worth value.
Status.

Feeling the slight increase, I smiled seeing everything working out nicely maybe I should build some on INT, STR, and AGI into focus considering the life of combat is ahead of me.
Better get used to this feeling of going on jobs that requires risk for me but I could always choose a life without combat or dangers…
But where's the little fun in that?
Grinning at this I began to go ahead and focus more on gaining some skills needed to be done after some good morning breakfast first.
I already spent splurging on some essential food items and camping supplies since I'm a bit poor at paying for a train for a one-way trip, not a complete turn-return. That and I lack any attacking skills which I should refocus on obtaining some.
Welp.
I just need to train to earn those skills I have and in return, I get better prepared for the mission ahead of me. But first breakfast.
/////
Returning back to the grind but this time I'm somewhere far instead of the forest near Magnolia Town I decided to go towards this place using Mastema to fly around the place to a nearby location.
<Observe>.
[<Observe> LEVEL UP!]
[Location: Great Plains
Description: The Great Plains is a large area of land, mixed with grass patches and stone monuments alike. The Great Plains are located between Mt. Hakobe and Mikage Forest. This area has Wolves, Sirens, Lizardmans, or Flutters lying around the area.]
Smirking at this the great plains shown with the rivers flowing down the mountainside along with the lush of along with some creatures are around these parts.
But using <Magic Sense> I can detect them nearby but also avoid them if at all possible and I get to increase my level in the process. Although there is an easier way to search the area with new skills…
*Woosh*
[Ding!]
[You have created a skill riding a vehicle!]
[You have learned <Riding>!]
And speaking of new skills it seems like my using Mastema finally unlocked this skill suddenly feeling I have more proper control and usage of my own Tegiu flying around more effectively than before.
I raised an eyebrow at this skill I gained with perks showing suddenly feeling I knew how to fight like never before. I couldn't help but realize how effective this skill really was once I obtained it as I check it out right away.
Skill List.
----
<Riding> (Passive) Lv.1/100 EXP: 78%
Description: This skill allows the user to completely understand the control of all ridden equipment both known and unknown to the user. Even having never driven a car, the user is able to make quick decisions that allow the user to easily control it on their first time driving. Even if the user doesn't know the actual function of a button, the user is able to understand the effect it will have once pressed.
----
Oh…
That's going to be VERY handy.
Flying up above using Mastema I couldn't help but smirk using this artifact talking to myself in a happy tune, "This is by far the most useful item I got from that Blessed Chest. Pretty handy to fly around and earn a <Riding> skill. Totally worth it. Oh, there's a clearing there that I can train in."
Moving my way flying I couldn't help but smile feeling the rush of flying freely away as I felt so… free moving around.
I enjoyed flying so much for the first time I couldn't but laugh out loud, "Hahaha! This is amazing!!!"
It really felt amazing to fly using my Mastema maneuvering around freely without anybody to say otherwise as I see level-up screens showing up using <Riding> the more I feel confident using my Teigu in action.

[<Riding> LEVEL UP!]
*Thud*
Landing down and flying around felt amazing seeing a large boulder all around with few trees around the area as I felt it was time to gain more skills in the clearings around here.
Taking this time, I decided I should practice my sword swings in the same motion as I control the Mana around me to help adjust my nerves directly affecting my movement and hopefully my eyes.
Neither one of the two words should be that much difficult to accomplish. Compared to moving my Mana into my system multitasking should help me gain more experience as I move my sword around trying to unlock some sword skills.
The only main concern is concentration while in combat as I have zero experience in that field but with I also practice gathering more Mana into my system not enough to burn myself but enough to feel the heat radiating off from me doing so.

Taking proper control of myself I began to focus on my breathing next as from what I heard that breathing could help someone reach superhuman-level feats like a certain group of Demon Slayers or Hamon users could do.
Practicing my breathing panting and getting proper control of myself is key to helping maintain control of my body's actions ensuring I don't overexert myself in the process of doing so pushing my body to its limits.
Whew…
This will take some time.
Patience is key.
And make sure to have some spare energy remaining as to not get me killed or ambushed like last time at least I have Mastema at the ready.
This time I will be prepared if anything tries to go after me. Otherwise, put me back on the grind.
