"No!!!"
A heart-wrenching roar echoed through the night sky.
Thor, the God of Thunder, fell to his knees as if a mountain had been toppled.
"Don't be sad. Maybe you made a mistake, and this hammer isn't yours after all," Phil Coulson said, somewhat speechless at Thor's tendency to angrily question the heavens.
"There is only one hammer in the entire universe. How could it be wrong?" Thor, like a seasoned King of the Sea betrayed by 180 girlfriends simultaneously, was heartbroken.
"The universe is vast, perhaps there is another one. You need to learn to question your previously unwavering beliefs," Phil Coulson shrugged. "Just like me, I was an atheist until I saw you."
"Coulson, thank you."
"No need to thank me. Can I ask you a question?"
"Feel free to ask, I can answer any question."
"Are you really a god?" Phil Coulson said, "A girl with an electric gun knocked you down. Please forgive me for being frank, but as a god, you seem too weak."
"Coulson, I take back my thank you."
"Thunder and electricity are the same thing. You call yourself the God of Thunder, but you were brought down by such a small amount of electricity?"
"Coulson, I'm starting to dislike you."
"You can dislike me, but you should be willing to defend my right to seek the truth with your life."
"Let's hurry and find Nick Fury."
"Don't rush. Let's rest for tonight," Phil Coulson said. "We'll set off tomorrow."
"Why tomorrow?" Thor was eager to meet Nick Fury, to know why he was cast down to the courtyard and stripped of his powers and hammer.
Although he knew that the chances of this person named Nick Fury knowing Odin's arrangements were slim, there was still some hope since this person knew in advance that he was coming to Earth, right?
"Do you want to leave your hammer here for everyone to play with?" Phil Coulson said. "I'll stay here and watch over the hammer, and tomorrow morning someone will take you to New York."
"Alright." Thor glanced at his hammer and agreed.
Immediately, Phil Coulson called Clint Barton. "Hey, Barton, do you want to see the God of Thunder with your own eyes?"
"Just tell me what's going on."
"Thor's hammer has landed in New Mexico, and I have to stay here and watch over it. I can't leave," Phil Coulson said. "Come over and take Thor to New York."
"Why don't you just take the hammer with you?" Clint Barton asked curiously.
"That's the problem, we can't take it."
"The Thunder God doesn't allow it?"
"It's not that. No one can lift the hammer, not even with a truck."
"That sounds interesting. Alright, I'll come right away." Clint Barton changed his mind, traveling through the night to New Mexico.
When Clint Barton arrived in New Mexico, he saw Phil Coulson and a tall young man sitting at KFC. There was a table full of fried chicken legs, fries, and other high-calorie foods, especially cola. There were already eight empty cups.
"You two are eating so much?" Clint Barton was stunned.
"Let me correct you, it's just him," Phil Coulson sat to the side. "I only had one chicken leg, the rest is all his."
"Hey, buddy!" Thor had a cup of cola in his left hand and a chicken wrap in his right hand. His mouth was full of food as he greeted Clint Barton incoherently. "Are you the one taking me to New York?"
"Really? Him?" Clint Barton felt a shock to his worldview. He had imagined multiple times what this god descending from the sky would look like, and this was it?
"I can't believe my eyes either." Phil Coulson said helplessly. "But yes, it's him."
"Do you want to drink this?" Thor quickly finished his cup of cola and grabbed another cup, handing it to Clint Barton. "It's absolutely delicious. I never imagined there would be such tasty things in the courtyard!"
"The courtyard?" Clint Barton was puzzled.
"He means Earth," Phil Coulson explained.
"If you eat like this, aren't you afraid of becoming a 200-pound couch potato?" Clint Barton asked.
"It's impossible!" Thor waved his hand dismissively. "That day will never come!"
Just as he was about to finish drinking the delicious beverage in front of him, Thor suddenly felt a blur in his vision and found himself in a pitch-black space.
The space was peculiar. It was completely dark with no light source, yet it didn't affect their vision at all.
Inside this space, it was as if it were daytime, and they could see everything normally, even the color black had no effect.
Of course, it wasn't just Thor who entered this space. Clint Barton and Phil Coulson were also there with him.
...
Morocco, the racetrack.
Tony Stark was dressed in a racing suit, followed by a group of girls screaming behind him.
"Stark, I thought you were just here to watch!" a glamorous lady exclaimed loudly.
"That's what I thought too before I arrived," Tony Stark replied.
"Can you drive?"
"Do I need to remind you that I can even fly?"
"Come on, Stark, you know I'm not talking about driving like that," the glamorous lady bit her lip, giving him a look that said, "You know what I mean."
"Sorry, did you apply too much lipstick? I can't quite understand what you're saying," Tony Stark looked puzzled. "How about going to my room, and we can discuss it?"
"Oh, Tony!" The glamorous lady looked pleasantly surprised, as if she had just won a lottery. She was about to agree when Pepper Potts squeezed her way in.
"Pepper, I was planning to say to her, 'Did you really think I would say that?' I just wanted to see the disappointment on her face. Do you believe me?" Tony Stark suddenly felt like he had swallowed a fly.
He wasn't lying. He really had no intention of getting involved with that lady; it was just his usual flirtatious banter to satisfy his ego.
But unfortunately, Pepper Potts overheard this particular moment!
Considering his past "glorious history," he didn't think Pepper Potts would believe his explanation.
"Tony, I thought you had changed." Indeed, Pepper Potts looked disappointed.
"I really have changed."
"Is that so?" Pepper Potts retorted.
"Boss, why are you dressed like this?" Happy thought that their boss must be feeling quite embarrassed, so he quickly stepped in to defuse the situation.
"Of course, it's for the race," Tony Stark said nonchalantly.
"What?!" Pepper Potts exploded upon hearing this. "Tony! What are you doing?"
"Weren't you the one who asked me to come out and relax?" Tony Stark innocently replied. "If it weren't for you dragging me out, I would still be in my lab doing my research."
"I only wanted you to come and watch the race, not personally participate!"
Tony Stark was about to respond, but before he could say anything, he disappeared on the spot.
