Ch.4

Over the next few weeks, my men were slowly becoming more and more experienced with being saboteurs. Almost to the point, they started getting too comfortable until I flipped out on them telling them never to let their guard down. Since they knew of my reputation none talked back to me and just nodded their heads in fear after my outburst.

"Lieutenant, John came back and found the next supply camp," Edward, another soldier of mine, says to me as we are all staying in another abandoned house. The war has been going on for several years now and many places are abandoned throughout Germany.

"Good, let's go," I say grabbing my gear with the others doing the same.

Arriving there, I noticed the supply camp was huge, possibly the main supply hub for this region's front line. There were dozens of Germans constantly patrolling and even during the night there were the same amount of guards patrolling the area. The place was a fortress, without actually being a fortress.

"We can mark this and send the information back home. They can figure out what to do then," I say turning from this suicide mission that only I would survive.

"Lieutenant, come on. We can do this, you taught us well. Plus this would give us a huge edge against the Germans," Sergeant William says to me as the others nod their heads in agreement.

"Everyone could die here," I say to them giving them hard looks. But they all stare back at me with determined faces.

"Fine, then split up… It's been an honor serving alongside you all for the time we have been here," I say giving them all an appreciated look since they are the hardest men I've known in either life. Willing to do what needs to be done regardless if it costs them their lives.

"We will meet back up here in an hour," Sergeant Williams says as we all give each other one last look before splitting off in pairs. I was with John.

John and I move silently toward the camp after splitting off. We then use the hand signs I taught them from my past life, to signal each other. John and I move up slowly with me leading. Taking out my commissioned knife, I move toward the guard who is standing with his back to me.

John is watching from a distance ready to move in, keeping an eye out too, but with my senses, I don't need him. With extremely fast reflexes I grab the guard covering his mouth while stabbing him in the neck and dragging him backward to a covered area. I lay the body on the ground before sneaking further in after signaling John to come right behind me.

With my hearing, smelling, and eyesight I know where the enemies are, so I easily make our way through the camp to the heart. While taking out a handful of soldiers along the way. The others should be getting to the outskirts of the supply areas, as John and I are taking care of the center.

We get to the large brick building in the center which looks like an old abandoned factory. There I take out another guard standing outside, once inside we see this place is filled with supplies that could support their front-line months. John splits off to start the fire in one of the warehouse's corners, while I go towards the other end. My end had a small office which I'm sure the officer of the camp was inside.

"Papa, kannst du mich bitte morgen bei den Hinrichtungen beobachten?" (Dad, can you please let me watch the executions tomorrow) I hear a small child's voice speak out right before I open the door to kill the officer.

"Frederick, ich habe dich nur hierher gebracht, um dir meine Arbeit zu zeigen. Denken Sie daran, dass Sie in der Schule weiterarbeiten müssen, Sie sind die Zukunft unseres Landes." (Frederick, I only brought you here to show you my work. Remember you must keep working in school, you are the future of our country.) the man and officer of the camp says.

'Just get the fucking kid out of here so I can kill you already,' I think not wanting to murder someone in front of a kid.

Just as I was thinking the alarms of the camp started blaring, meaning someone got caught. Then the warehouse fire started right after along with the officer busting out of his office along with the little boy right behind him. We three all make awkward eye contact for a split second, though I hesitated due to the child being right there.

The officer then pulls his pistol out and shoots me right in the head, but I turn my head out of reflex. So instead the bullet hits me in the eye making me stumble back in pain and I instinctually bring out my claws and behead the man out of anger. His head falls to the ground with a thump and blood sprays everywhere covering both me and the young boy.

The little boy stares at me in horror, awe, fear, and possibly fascination seeing my claws and eye heal instantly. Seeing the fire quickly spreading, I grab the child and run into the office. Though there doesn't appear to be another exit, so I take out my claws again cutting a new exit. Breaking the wall down I stand outside and right there are several German soldiers.

Once again I'm standing there for a split second trying to think since I'm holding a four or five-year-old kid in my arms after murdering his father. Then German soldiers opened fire on me as I used my body to protect the child from getting hurt. After a few seconds, the Germans stop firing on me, while the child is just staring at me with the same emotions.

As for me my anger was rising extremely high due to the situation and broke when the German soldier came over stabbing me in the back checking if I was dead. With a guttural growl, I bring out my claws and begin massacring the soldiers around me. I had flashes of moments of me slicing apart men before I regained control of my anger.

When I regained control, I was once again covered completely in blood and viscera. While the small boy was staring at me unmoving dozens of bodies littered the area around me. That and the entire camp was like a hellscape with fire and dead everywhere. I pulled back my claws as I heard more German soldiers shouting and running my way.

I gave the boy one last apologetic look before running off, as he should be fine now. I arrived back to the area we agreed on meeting back up at. As I was waiting I tried to clean myself off the best I could then the others started to show back up. After the hour was up only a handful came back, including Sergeant Williams but the others all were now considered KIA (killed in action).

The others didn't say anything as we quietly made our way back to our camp seeing me covered in blood. This wasn't the first time they saw me like this, but they were still fearful of seeing me like this. Once back at camp, no one said anything as we were all coming to terms with the success of the mission but at the cost of more than half our group.

I found a pump well nearby and cleaned myself off completely getting the blood out. I left my clothes out to dry while only wearing my underwear. The others did the same as some were bloody or ashy from the fires. We all just sat there smoking and drinking in silence.

"When will this end?" Sergeant Williams says breaking the silence as we all look at the night sky in our underwear.

"Hopefull soon…" Edward says giving a deep sigh before taking another swig of the whiskey being passed around.

"What day is it?" I say trying to think of how long before the war should end if not sooner because of our sabotaging.

"September something," Charles says with a shrug.

"Then hopefully in the next few weeks if not a month or so," I say nodding my head as the others stare at me in confusion.

"Well, with our contributions, the fact that the German soldiers even want it to end, and the main fact that the citizens are starving they will be forced to surrender sooner than later," I say giving the facts I knew from my past life as the others just nod their heads taking my word at face value. Each of them trusts me with their lives completely at this point.

"So, Lieutenant, what are you gonna do when the war ends?" Edward says breaking the silence that took place again.

"Stay in the military for a few more years and hopefully move up higher," I say knowing that WW2 will start two decades from now. I told the military I was twenty when I reenlisted so, I'll be 'forty' when the second war comes around.

"I want to just go back home and finally marry my girl waiting for me there," Sergeant Williams says with a smile on his face thinking about the woman. Every man here is no more than twenty-five years old.

"I want to open my own bakery," Edward says and he did like cooking since he always offered to cook the food we 'liberated' from the German supplies.

"Fuck it, I might just stay in the army too. Got nothing else I really care about," Charles says while smoking his cigarette.

"Then here is to survive the next few weeks and for our fallen brothers today!" Sergeant Williams says raising the whiskey bottle as everyone grabs one for themselves raising it along with him.

That night everyone got drunk, however, I am literally unable to get drunk due to my extremely high metabolism. So I just sat watch and took a nap when Edward woke up taking watch from me. The next morning we moved further south taking supply camp after supply camp down.

Then as we were scouting the next supply camp we saw our ally soldiers marching in from the front lines as the German soldiers surrendered. Like that the First World War ended and the remaining members of my men survived the war. After another several weeks of occupying Germany and ensuring the war truly ended we all finally headed back home.

I stayed in the military, getting every medal they had and another photo with the President this time again. Then because I stayed in the military, they promoted me from 2nd Lieutenant to Captain. My old rank from my old life and I was given command of the First Company of the US Army.

I then spent the two decades training the men and making them the best I could, I also received several promotions over this time reaching the rank of Colonel. Normally that would make me in charge of a brigade (3000-5000 men). However, because of my special skill set and the fact that the Second World War officially started in Europe. I was tasked with making a battalion (roughly 300 men) of specialized soldiers to go behind enemy lines and sabotage them.

The day came when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and officially made the USA join the war. At the same time I heard about this secret program that was making Super Heroes, so I am expecting Steve Rogers to appear eventually and the beginning of Marvel to start soon after. I volunteered to lead the charge on D-day which no one argued knowing it was going to be a blood bath.

I was then shipped to Britain along with the first brigade of American soldiers that another Colonel was in charge of. However, I had the same rank but only my battalion reported to me. I along with the other Colonel and the British military planned the attack later known as D-day.

AN: I know I said we'd be in WW1 for a while, but my plans changed so we will be spending longer in WW2. This arc will be where Logan meets Soldier Boy, Stormfront, and Frederick Vought again.
