Here are four options for you:
a) Flower Sword Vista, a member of the Whitebeard Pirates.
b) Squard, the Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates' 16th Division, also known as the "Large Whirlpool Spider."
c) Little Oars Jr., a giant and a member of the Whitebeard Pirates.
d) Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, the Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates.
You have two minutes starting now. - Timer begins."
Again?!
Upon hearing this question, everyone watching the quiz livestream and the members of the Whitebeard Pirates who were participating in the quiz were all excited when they heard the question.
They had been contemplating who had inflicted the severe injury on Whitebeard during the Battle of Marineford.
If it weren't for that stab, Whitebeard wouldn't have made the subsequent mistakes that allowed Akainu to hit him, worsening his condition.
In the end, not even Akainu could stop the chain of events that led to Ace being caught and killed.
All of it traced back to the wound in Whitebeard's chest.
However, when they heard the answers to this question, everyone was shocked.
What was going on?
Three out of the four options were members of the Whitebeard Pirates, and the remaining option was the confirmed traitor of the Whitebeard Pirates.
In other words, the injury Whitebeard suffered was caused by someone within their own ranks.
Doflamingo: "Hahaha... Whitebeard sure did a lousy job as a father. Look at all these dutiful sons. Hahaha..."
Big Mom: "Haha... Whitebeard wasn't a good father either. Unlike me, my children are loyal to their mama..."
As Big Mom spoke, she seemed to recall one particular disobedient daughter, and her expression suddenly turned dark.
Many people were amazed and joked about the large number of loyal followers Whitebeard had in his pirate crew. They couldn't believe that even with so many "sons," Whitebeard was still betrayed. They found it hard to believe that his "sons" were so filial.
Whitebeard's expression grew even worse.
Today could be considered the worst day of his life. He had received news of his sons' betrayal one after another, and it happened in front of the entire world.
His mood was more than just terrible.
He couldn't help but question whether he had truly been a worthy father.
Why would his sons, one after another, betray him?
Marco, seeing his father's troubled expression, tried to comfort him, "Father, we can discuss our sadness later. Let's finish answering the question first. I believe there must be more to this."
"That's right, Father. I don't believe anyone other than Teach would betray you. There must be something hidden behind this."
...
Whitebeard's mood improved slightly with their comforting words. At least he still had them by his side. During the Battle of Marineford, they had stood by him.
"Marco, I leave this question to you," Whitebeard shook his head. He didn't want to participate in such a question.
"Alright, Father," Marco nodded.
Marco glanced at everyone and said, "In fact, we can eliminate several options right away. Firstly, Oz Jr. His size is too big, and he couldn't have inflicted such an injury on you.
Secondly, Vista. Throughout the footage, Vista was helping you. Even until the end of the footage, Vista showed no signs of betrayal.
So, we can exclude Oz Jr. and Vista.
That leaves us with Squard and Teach."
But..."
Here, Marco glanced at Whitebeard with a somewhat unpleasant expression, "But at this point, the Battle of Marineford had just begun. Teach should have been advancing towards the plaza.
So, it's unlikely that he was the one who injured you. Therefore, there is only one answer."
Marco's analysis immediately raised suspicion among the Whitebeard Pirates.
"How could it be Squard?
He respects Father so much!"
"Could there be something wrong? Although Squard is just the captain of one of our affiliated pirate crews, his respect for Father is no less than ours. He couldn't have done such a thing."
In reality, the Whitebeard Pirates mainly consisted of the sixteen divisions led by the captains on Whitebeard's ship.
However, as one of the Yonko's crews, they also had many subordinate pirate crews, similar to Luffy's Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
Under the Whitebeard Pirates, there were a total of 43 pirate crews, all of whom joined the Whitebeard Pirates out of admiration for Whitebeard. Each member respectfully called Whitebeard "Father."
These affiliated pirate crews did not usually act together with the Whitebeard Pirates. However, if Whitebeard issued any orders, they would rush to his side without hesitation.
They were all gathered together by Whitebeard's personal charm. It can be said that each and every one of them was a fan and son of Whitebeard.
However, could someone like Squard be the one to seriously injure Whitebeard?
They couldn't believe it.
Initially, they instinctively thought Teach was responsible, but after Marco's analysis, they had to face the possibility that the true culprit was Squard.
As Squard, the Giant Spider of the Whirlpool, witnessed this scene, he was stunned on the spot.
He wasn't on the Moby Dick at the moment but was watching the live broadcast from his own pirate ship.
Initially, he was furious, wondering who dared to betray and harm Father.
But after listening to Marco's analysis, well...
The traitor turned out to be himself?!
Squard immediately wanted to deny it, saying, "It's not me, I didn't do it, don't make baseless accusations."
The crew members next to him, after hearing Marco's analysis and seeing Squard's reaction, started looking at him differently, as if he were Teach.
Squard felt utterly helpless. He wanted to explain to Father through the live broadcast, but Father wasn't present, so he couldn't say anything. It was a bitter feeling.
How could he be the one who harmed Father?
How could it be possible?
It must have been someone else.
However, looking at the other options, Vista was a staunch supporter of Father and performed exceptionally well in the footage. It couldn't be him.
As for Oz Jr., the wound was so small, it was almost like a toothpick, which didn't match at all.
And Teach was advancing towards the plaza; there were no other options left.
Could it really be him... Squard's mentality collapsed. Why the hell would he harm Father?!
In the live broadcast, Marco and the others had no other answer options. There was only one suspicious person left—Squard.
With no other clues available, Marco gave this answer to Luo ke.
"Correct answer," Luo ke nodded.
Luo ke's response left Squard, who was thousands of miles away, dumbfounded.
...
So, the traitor was really himself.
He couldn't believe his ears.
The same thoughts occurred to the Whitebeard Pirates. They all looked at Luo ke, wanting to know the reason from him.
It wasn't just them; people from all over the world wanted to know the answer.
Today, their eyes were opened. The Whitebeard Pirates, known for their loyalty, were hit by multiple shocks. First, Teach killed his brother for a Devil Fruit, and now an even more shocking revelation: killing their own father.
Wow, in terms of filial piety, the Whitebeard Pirates take the cake!
Whitebeard, you're not collecting sons, you're collecting enemies.
They wished for a day when they would receive a son who could kill Whitebeard and end his life. The Marines thought this way, and many pirates had similar thoughts.
As the saying goes, the skilled swimmer drowns. Those who like to collect sons end up dying at the hands of their sons, without any flaws.
Seeing the perplexed expressions of the Whitebeard Pirates, Luo ke understood their confusion and casually explained:
"Squard was manipulated by Akainu during the Battle of Marineford. He mistakenly believed that Whitebeard had made a deal with the Sengoku, and as long as he brought the Whitebeard Pirates to Marine Headquarters to die, the Shogun would release Ace.
Initially, Squard didn't believe it. But Akainu's claim that Ace was Roger's son, and Whitebeard choosing Ace as his successor over anyone else, made Squard unable to disbelieve.
Moreover, Squard had a deep-seated grudge against Roger, who had once wiped out his entire pirate crew. He harbored hatred towards Roger, and Whitebeard intentionally concealed Ace's true identity, which deepened Squard's suspicions.
So, when the Battle of Marineford began, Squard launched a betrayal against Whitebeard, stabbing him through the chest.
Akainu's manipulation succeeded, and Whitebeard was critically injured, unable to display his true strength in the battle. This laid the foundation for the Whitebeard Pirates' failure in the Battle of Marineford.
It can be said that throughout the Battle of Marineford, the Whitebeard Pirates were outwitted by the Marines in terms of strategy, and the Marines were toyed with by Blackbeard Teach. The intelligence of the Whitebeard Pirates was focused on Blackbeard, but unfortunately, he turned out to be a traitor.
As for Squard, after gravely injuring Whitebeard, Whitebeard didn't blame him. He knew that Squard had been manipulated and embraced forgiveness, even knowing he had been deceived.``
Akainu, Akainu, it's always Akainu!
In the entire Battle of Marineford, how many more things are you going to stir up?
You planned the assassination of Whitebeard, you injured Whitebeard, and you even killed Ace...
Why do we keep seeing you causing trouble throughout the Battle of Marineford? When will it end?
The Whitebeard Pirates were infuriated by this.
They always said that the people of the Whitebeard Pirates would never do such a thing. Not everyone is Teach, after all.
So, it was Akainu, this guy causing trouble behind the scenes.
Thinking about how Akainu also killed Ace during the Battle of Marineford, it instantly ignited the fury of the entire Whitebeard Pirates.
