Chapter 83: Mirage Island (2)

The Mirage Island looked like any other. Trees, bushes, tiny hills, and an endless beach surround it. If one ended up there without knowing how mysterious the island was, they would unquestionably believe it was not dangerous.

I knew that was not the case at all. A powerful formation made the island invisible. The stories mentioned that the island moved as well. That could be part of said formation.

So the first thing I did before moving an inch was check my surrounding area for possible threats. But I did not spread my power far. That would make me sense the creatures, but they would feel me too.

I preferred to be stealthy. A mud pathway was near me, leading to the island's deeper parts. Using it rather than opening a new path through the woods was better, so I went there.

The sound of crickets was loud inside the woods. I could also hear the birds singing and diving into the water near the beach to catch fish.
