They returned to the city square's center so that they could drop off the fabrics they had bought in the carriage. It was almost noon now, the skies so bright blue it looked like it was painted on an easel.
Reqiel's fingers were sticky and stained with sugar as he ate the last stick of candied grapes, licking his fingers with gusto.
"You can have mine, Your Highness," Andras offered him his candied apple.
Reqiel looked hopeful, he had never gotten the chance to eat something like this. All of his meals were carefully and properly prepared by highly skilled chefs and none of them ever thought to make him a simple treat.
"Are you sure? Don't you want it?" He asked in concern, not wanting to come off greedy although his round eyes were fixed on the offered treat.
