CH.4 Sys Explains System

-3rd POV-

It was currently dark out. What time? Nobody car-

[It's currently 7:48 pm Sakuya.]

'Thank you Sys.' Sakuya plans to find the perpetrator of whoever looks like her mistress or Koakuma.

After all, what servant wouldn't want to punish someone bringing shame upon they're master?

Anyway, Sakuya is walking through the human village and since it was dark out, there wasn't a single soul around.

The human village within Gensokyo looked to be like an olden Japan. Which era? Edo or perhaps even younger. There is no modern gadgets either. Only the Kappa have those.

Seeing the village, Sys couldn't help but pose a question for Sakuya.

[Does the System seem weird to you Sakuya?]

Sakuya nodded without hesitation. What wouldn't be weird if a talking window screen with a personality suddenly appeared, started talking to you and claimed to be yours?

[Then... do you want me to smoothen out the details of the System?]

'It would be useful knowing all of what your able to do.' She had a thoughtful expression on her face and the System made an audible breath.

[This is going to long, So be ready.]

After some silence, Sys spoke one more.

[We'll start with the Status. Like I said before, it basically shows everything about you that you want me to show you. I summarized your stats like Strength, Endurance and Agility but they are able to be numerical. You also have a level, if it goes up, so does all your stats, it came along with me so don't be surprised. What else... ah yes, adaption. It's essentially what people or abilities you have learned. It also includes some memories and such.]

Sakuya took in all the information and then thought about the adaption part. 'Wait, so if I buy my mistress from the shop, I'll get to go through her memories?'

[... yes]

'... okay...' Sakuya then cleared her throat and changed topics. 'What else other than the Status?' With a sigh, Sys continued her explanation.

[Okay, the shop can be simplified like this. You can buy yourself and basically multiply your power and gain some more skills, or buy others gain they're powers and memories at the cost of probably being less human.]

'Isn't that really powerful? Doesn't that mean I can match some of the sages?' Sys just nodded and then Sakuya posed another question. 'What about the currency?'

[It can be gained passively about 5 per day out of time stop or through missions/quests.]

Sakuya then remembered the prices (that I didn't show) in the shop and nodded her head. It made sense as to why it was all so expensive, doubling one's power or gaining others shouldn't be cheap after all.

[Next up the Quests/Missions~. It's pretty straight forward, depending on the time and situation, the System out of my control will create a Quest/Mission for you. It can range from the simple E- one you received this afternoon to Lunatic or perhaps higher. Like the current quest you have now.]

The window changed and showed the Quest details.

[Fools Bat]

[Difficulty: C-]

[Requirements: Find the so called "bat" that Reimu and Marisa talked about. Usage of skills are allowed.]

[Rewards: Inventory function]

'You tell me this now?' Sakuya just stared at the window with a blank impassive face.

[Um... sorry...]

'Well, I read "Inventory Function", meaning it's a form of storage? Perhaps a bag?' Sakuya thought while also addressing Sys to answer her question.

Sys could only sweat drop because she actually doesn't know. She only knows of how a function works once it's unlocked. So she just bullshitted her way through this one.

[It's a form of space within the System or perhaps a physical object that is given to you in order to store objects.]

Sys left it vague but straight to the point. Basically, she just used her knowledge of System's from all the fan fiction and Isekai she's seen in her past life.

'I see...' Sakuya continued patrolling the quiet and dark human village while making conversation with Sys along the way. Most of the talk was about the System and guesses of why it was given to her along with Sys.

[I have no idea how I died to be honest. I was just playing Mystia's Izakaya and all I remember is everything just going black afterward.]

'"Mystia's Izakaya"? Let me guess, you play as Mystia and run her shop?' Her guess was spot on as the System window just nodded with a slight pink.

[In official Touhou works from ZUN, your basically guaranteed to play Reimu and or Marisa. However, there is a lot of fan games and stories that people have made. This is basically what gave birth to Genokyo's multiverse is my guess.]

Sakuya went into a bit of thought and suddenly realized she had reached the exit of the village. So she just turned around and began to do another round before checking another place. As she did, she saw a shadow of what appeared to be her mistress.

So she instinctively took her knives out by quickly activating her time stop and quick drawing them from a holder on her thigh under her skirt. She held them like claws but was prepared to throw them if necessary. The System window quickly disappeared as if to avoid the inevitable.

Thus, with a cold howl of wind, the battle of bullets had begun.

They took off into the sky and began firing projectiles, better known as bullets, at each other. It was as if fireworks went off into the sky. With each explosion, something bigger or smaller would occur after.

Sys saw all this and was mesmerized. In the games, it would be on a 2d plane and the patterns were captivating, but seeing it for yourself is an entirely different ball park. But, whether she knew it or not, something strange was occurring within Sys.

Data continued to pour into the System as the Spell Cards started to be fired off. Then, time stopped and Sakuya quickly zipped around leaving knives that directly pointed towards the shadow Remilia. Sys couldn't help but mutter the name of the Spell Card.

[Killing Doll]

As if on timing, time resumed and the shadow Remilia was left confused as several knives managed to graze and hit her. Sakuya didn't give it a chance to breathe as she continued firing knives towards her foe.

Little did show know besides Sys, a little book keeper from the village was watching.
