The Darkling Encounter (2)

Playing the Solar Awakening Card had turned the tides in their favor, but only for a short duration. As long as the magical sun was up in the sky, the Elder Darkling knew it could not step outside. However, all it needed to do was wait for the effects of the card to dissipate, and then it could resume its hunt.

Leena, too, was well aware of this, so instead of waiting for the daylight to fade, she took matters into her own hands. The spectral knight listened to Leena's words attentively and then trotted up to her, gently lowering his head.

Leena lifted her right hand and touched the knight's plumed helm. She then closed her eyes and whispered a sacred incantation that bound the knight to her, linking his mind with hers.

When Leena reopened her eyes, they were glowing with a spectral green hue and she seemed to have fallen into a trance.
