They believed this new format was designed solely to diminish the War God Academy’s chances of winning the finals.

By pitting them against their opponents in this way, they felt Alec would lose the opportunity to exploit weaknesses and continue defeating members of the Bloodline Academy as he had done before against the Vajra Academy

While they thought such type of victory against the Bloodline Academy might be impossible, they still didn’t want to risk it considering Alec had showed that he could just summon his golems to stampede a win, and that is why the committee had adhered to the five-match format, hoping it would allow the Bloodline Academy a smoother path to victory.
