CHAPTER II: THE ADVENTURERS
"No need to fret okay, I was just wondering around the forest when I smelled the food. You see I was robbed by some bandits and haven't eaten for a few days." I pleaded.
There was no panic or anything in my voice. For some reason I was weirdly calm. With a blank expression I looked at the four people in fr ont of me.
"He is completely unarmed. I don 't sense any mana from him either. It's like he literary has no magic at all!" Kail, the pale looking guy said.
"Why are you out here!?" The big wolf guy asked.
Didn't I just tell him why I'm here? Maybe I was too subtle but it should be obvious shouldn't it.
"I recently left my village to become an adventurer but I was attacked by bandits. I was hoping y ou could spare some food." I answered.
Glancing over to the fire to emphasise my point.
The big guy continued to stare at me with a serious look. I think he was gauging if I was a threat or not. Of course it was only speculation, it's not like I can read his mind. Suddenly a slight smile came upon his face.
"You can join us for dinner. Tomorrow you can follow us to the city!" He said and returned towards the fire.
Kail also withdrew his bow and followed after the others.
"So what is your name, strange little fellow!?" The wolf guys asked as we sat around the fire.
"Shapan, Eto Shapan!" I answered.
"I am Kaku, an A-class adventurer!" The wolf guy added.
"I am Trent, also an A-class!" The short red haired guy to the left joined in.
"I'm Sheyla, also an A-class." The tanned beauty in tribal warrior gear added.
"A-class? WOW! So you guys must be strong!" They all blushed at my compliment.
"Of course kid, they don't just make anyone A-class!" Trenat bragged. Grinning ear to ear.
"So you said you want to join the guild! Do you have any combat experience or special abilities!?" Sheyla changed the subject.
Her long black silky hair looked like black diamonds. Her bosom was also rather large although my radar was a bit off so I can't be too sure how big they are. I'm guessing around 40 Double D. Back in high school I could just tell a girl' s measurements from a single look but that was ages ago.
"I can't use any magic but my grandfather taught me to fight but only to defend myself or earn a living!"
To be quite honest I have to lie. I've even only been involved in 3 fights of 24 years on earth. All of them happened before I even entered high school. The fighting I knew was from watching movies and anime but I couldn 't possibly emulate them in an actual fight.
So anyway for the next few minutes we talked about the adventures they had all been to. We shared the food amongst ourselves and went to sleep.
The next morning Kaku and the rest woke up very early. I struggled to get up because the sun wasn 't used to waking up before the sun. After much back and forth we packed up everything. After a few minutes we had a small breakfast of bland bread and tasteless soup before departing for the city.
Of course I had to make sure I wasn't too out of place and kept a low profile. I made sure not to give them any reason to be suspicious of me. As we continued to walk, dawn broke as the sun rose and morning came and went.
It was early afternoon by the time we exited the ancient forest and came into a normal looking wood forest. We took a short lunch break before continuing. Taking about another hour to exit the woods. The city walls finally came into view beyond the grass plains.
"The walled city of Torak!" Kaku said with some relief in his voice.
"Home at last!" She yla added.
"Two long months!" Trent joined.
"What did you expect from an S-class quest!?" Kail spoke for the first time since yesterday. "Most of the time it's even longer!" He added.
