The funeral for the dead twins was arranged privately that same day, whereby only Robert, John, and a handful of John's men were allowed to be a part of it at the cemetery.

Getting back, Robert walked into Emma's room since he felt he'd been away from her for too long already and found Emma sitting up on the bed, staring into blank space.

"Emma!" He screamed her name in joy, ran towards her, and wrapped his arms around her. "I thought it would take you a—"

He didn't get to finish talking when he suddenly felt his body being pushed away. Stunned, he stared at the distance in front of them before his gaze landed on Emma who glared at him with tear-filled eyes.

"Don't touch me," she said ever so lightly that Robert wouldn't have heard what she was saying if he hadn't read her lips. "Stay away from me and don't you ever come close to me again," she added.
