Chapter Twenty-Three

(Midtown - Gotham City Convention Centre: Time before Destruction - Time: 2 hours 1 minute)

(Pov: Jayson clone 234)

Clone 234, known for his sarcastic yet serious demeanour,( even though he was just born a few minutes ago)discreetly made his way through the bustling halls of the Comic-Con...

His keen eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for any sign of the hidden bombs.

As he walked, he couldn't help but quip under his breath, his dry wit providing a brief moment of levity amidst the tension.

"Ah, nothing like a secret bomb hunt to start the day. Just what I needed." he muttered, rolling his eyes. "If only I had packed my detective hat and magnifying glass. This would be so much easier."

Carefully, Clone 234 glanced around, using his cover of indifference to observe the comics lining the walls.

"Nothing like a bomb hunt during a nerd fest." he muttered, rolling his eyes. " I should have brought my superhero cape. It would have made this so much more dramatic."

He discreetly opened a few boxes, searching for any suspicious devices that could be the bombs.

Finally, he spotted two of them tucked away, cleverly concealed among the merchandise.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? Some explosive reading material?" he said, smirking to himself. "I guess comic books really can blow your mind."

Just as Clone 234 prepared to move on, he noticed a figure that appeared to be himself, engaging in a conversation with Raven.

"What's this? Another clone of me? That's a dangerous level of handsomeness." he commented with a sly grin. "But I think one of me is already too much for the world to handle."

' Well actually there were over 300 of me but who really keeps count.' Just as he was about to approach Raven and his other clone brother he had spotted someone even more helpful.

" Jackpot!"

Clone 234 discreetly approached the disguised Titan before reaching out to grab Dick Grayson, and pulling him into a more secure area.

However, before he could say anything, a wingding flew through the air, narrowly missing Clone 234's head.

"Whoa! Easy there, Batman Jr. No need to lose your cool." He quipped, his voice laced with a hint of urgency. "Listen up, Robin and yes I know it's you, your not fooling me with that disguise. There's something you need to know."

" Oh yeah, and what's that." Robin asked while having his hand on the button that would summon all the other titans if necessary.

The clone swiftly showed Dick the hidden bomb he had discovered, its ominous presence confirming the gravity of the situation.

At first, Dick was cautious and attentive, but as he examined the device, his expression grew more serious, the weight of the situation sinking in.

"We have to stop this. Lives are at stake." Dick stated, his voice resolute. "I'll gather the team and mobilize. We need to find the other bombs and neutralize them before it's too late."

Clone 234 nodded, his usual sarcasm replaced with a sense of urgency. "Finally, we're on the same page, Boy Wonder. Let's show these bombs who's boss and save the day. Just try to keep up with my quick wit while we're at it."

" Wait, what???"

" Try to keep up my dear Watson." Clone 234 said while running alongside Dick.

The Robin in question still confused about who he was and what his motivation is in telling him all this.

Robin still didn't trust the clone but those bombs he scanned were 100 percent real. Thankfully he didn't leave home without his utility belt.

He was able to discreetly deactivate every bomb they found. He also found out that other clones of Jayden also found the other Teen Titans, and have been helping them find bombs and the terrorists that were planning to blow up the comic con as a distraction.

Together, they discreetly investigated every corner, analyzing the surroundings and searching for any signs of danger.

Clone 234's sharp senses served as a tool for distraction and misdirection, allowing them to navigate through the crowds unnoticed.

As they continued their search, Clone 234's mind raced, contemplating the implications of the bombs and the identity of the culprits behind them.

The memory of Lola's sacrifice weighed heavily on his heart, fueling his determination to protect others and rewrite the future.

He may be a clone but he still had Jayden's memories, so even though he was making light of the situation and annoying Robin he was seriously keeping a lookout for anything or anyone suspicious.

....

As Jayden stealthily trailed the two terrorists through the labyrinthine corridors of the convention centre, his heart pounded with a mix of anticipation and concern.

Every step had to be careful and deliberate to avoid detection. He kept his distance, utilizing his newfound ability to blend into the crowd, ensuring he remained unnoticed.

The terrorists, unaware of Jayden's presence, continued their brisk pace.

They moved with confidence, their intentions were crystal clear. Jayden knew there was more to this operation than what initially met the eye.

He needed to find out their true motive, and he was determined to do so without compromising his own safety or the safety of others.

Finally, the pair led Jayden to a secluded area deep within the bowels of the convention centre. It was a dimly lit chamber that seemed out of place amidst the bustling event. As they approached a heavy metal door adorned with ancient symbols and engravings, Jayden's suspicions intensified.

Hiding behind a nearby pillar, Jayden strained to hear their conversation. Their hushed voices carried fragments of their plan, revealing the true nature of their scheme.

"Once we detonate the bombs, chaos will ensue, and while everyone is distracted, Black Mask and Penguin will have the opportunity to breach the sealed door." one of the terrorists explained with a sinister grin.

The other nodded, his eyes glinting with greed. "The treasures hidden within that room are worth billions. Black Mask has been obsessed with obtaining them for years. This diversion will finally grant him access."

Jayden's mind raced as the pieces fell into place.

Black Mask and the Penguin, two notorious crime lords, were orchestrating this operation to gain control of the ancient treasures hidden behind a sealed door.

The bombs were merely a means to an end, a calculated distraction to divert attention and ensure their unhindered progress.

A surge of anger coursed through Jayden's veins. He knew he couldn't allow Black Mask and the Penguin to succeed in their ruthless quest for wealth and power. Lives were at stake...plus he owed it to the two for Lola.

"I just need five minutes with them...those will be the longest five minutes of their lives." Jayden said with a wrathful tone, he didn't care that he was going to be face-to-face with some of the most notorious villains.

They almost took something precious to him, and now he will be returning the favour.
