The sound of a purr resonates in the room, it is warm, Aether is comfortable with the noise and vibrations so he does not wake up thinking she is dreaming. The noise of Paimon shouting his name puts him on alert, he opens his eyes quickly and can't believe what he sees.

After a few long months in the dangerous Inazuma Aether returned to Liyue to finally see his friends again and rest from the war, the boat trip was entertaining thanks to Beidou and Kazuha, both of them proposed to celebrate his new exploits in a big way when they arrived on land, Paimon more than agreed thinking that there would be all kinds of delicious foods, and at the insistence of the albino fairy Aether could not say no, despite suffering beforehand knowing that he would have to order the mess they leave behind in his home.

Inviting his friends was easy the problem was the people who could actually have time, most of them are very busy with their jobs and Aether understood that, he couldn't be bothered about it, after all, there would always be another time to see each other again.

The night came and brought with it his guests who were gradually arriving at the house, Beidou and Kazuha were the first, they had spent the afternoon walking around the port until the time came. Kaeya, Venti, Diluc and Rosaria were the following, Aether was excited to have a good time with each and every one of them.

As he brought the drinks he had bought earlier, wine, and grape juice just for Diluc, he noticed one more person walk through the door, Zhongli looked as good as ever, his elegant brown suit and gait caught everyone's attention. Anyway, the first thing the dark brown-haired man did was approach Aether as soon as he saw him, a slight smile appeared on his face.

"It's been a while, you look good."

He said kindly, his eyes similar to Cor Lapiz did not leave the blond's silhouette, Aether was already used to it, they had had several dates before leaving and lately they were becoming... something spicy. Aether believed it was his imagination, that is, an ex archon interested in him? He thought that the subtle insinuations could be a simple joke that he did not understand and, until then, he still believed it.

"Zhongli, I missed you."

He whispered, Aether smiled at the gesture but before he could joke about it a couple more people arrived and he had to bid the former archons farewell to properly greet his guests.

The night continued and after so long the traveler's house was full of noise, laughter and people moving from one place to another, contrary to the usual that seemed to be an oasis full of peace in a dreamlike place. Aether watched as Chongyun ran out out the door yelling that he didn't want to try anything weird again, Xingqiu was chasing him from behind laughing at him and trying to convince him that nothing bad would happen this time and Xiangling was discussing with Paimon what kind of strange thing they would cook as they walked towards the kitchen with Gouba cutely walking behind them.

Kazuha was next to the blonde urging him to try the sake he had brought while Beidou talked with Kaeya animatedly, it didn't take more than ten minutes for those two to get along, Rosaria talked to Diluc about his curious taste for grape juice, Aether was aware that every once in a while the redhead glanced his way to make sure he wasn't drinking.

Venti and Zhongli at some point sat together to talk alone in a secluded place, which seemed curious to Aether, but seeing them together gave him a sense of calm, he was glad that the older man could meet up with his old acquaintances from time to time.

Venti spoke with a mischievous smile on his face, the blush on his cheeks due to the amount of liquor he had ingested.

"I do not know what are you talking about."

Zhongli replied quickly as he looked at his glass of cheap wine, he wasn't going to complain after the boy brought a couple of bottles of Osmanthus wine, especially for him that was finished a few minutes ago, he wanted to try a glass of that Venti drank all the while, he took a sip before turning back to see the smaller one who was looking at him curiously.

The one with blue braids continued to insist.

The brunette waved his hand as he denied his friend's accusations.

"You're horn-!"

Zhongli hurriedly put down his glass almost spilling the liquid inside it without caring about dirtying the table or his own clothes, he covered the smaller's mouth before he yelled something that he considered inappropriate to say out loud.

The ex geo archon stood with his face resting on his hand as he watched as the blond spoke to Barbatos, he seemed disconnected from reality, then a soft sound began to resonate near them and Venti who was next to Zhongli knew instantly what it was, he nudged him hoping that would calm him down and focus on the conversation they were having, but despite trying to contain himself, it didn't last more than a minute as he made that purring sound again.

"Zhongli? Are you okay? Do you want a some water?"

Aether asked him after seeing that he didn't react, the boy imagined that he was already drunk, he had never seen him in that state and if that was his behavior while drunk, he could understand why he didn't like to drink.

"Maybe he needs to rest, Lili isn't used to drinking so much."

"I see, should I walk him home?"

The blond asked.

"And if you give him a room? I'm sure he'll get over it soon, he's a tough guy after all."

Venti said hitting Zhongli's shoulder who let out a low growl in response, Aether didn't hear him as at that moment Chongyun shouted at the next table asking for water and Xingqiu's raucous laughter followed, the blonde sighed knowing that they had ended up giving him something strange, they probably mixed his food with Jueyun chilies again.

"I'll go help him, can you take Zhongli upstairs?"

"Aether~ Do you see me as someone who can help this robust man stand up?"

Venti said as he stretched out on the table like a cat, it was clear that he could just that he didn't want to so Aether sighed giving up easily.

He said turning around to go to the kitchen but in the middle of the way an already very drunk Kaeya intercepts him, puts his hand on his waist and holds his other hand while making him dance a disorganized waltz, Aether laughs as he tries to follow his rhythm for a while. Meanwhile Venti who was about to leave Zhongli to go drink with the rest hears him growl louder, turns to see the ex geo archon putting his hands on the table getting up with his golden gaze fixed on the blond.

Venti said holding him by the shoulders trying to make him sit back down since he looks like he was going to hit someone, or something worse.

Rosaria said aside thinking that the chestnut-haired man was only referring to the archon of her city, Venti ended up laughing so much and so loudly that everyone turned to see what was happening. Aether looked at Zhongli thinking that he was annoyed because he already wanted to go to rest.

"Sorry to be late, are we leaving?"

He begged him again, this time, his eyes opened slowly revealing sharp pupils that were a little scary, the dragon blinked, it took almost a minute to realize the situation and when he was aware his nervousness made him move quickly, uncoiling from the blond's body and getting off the bed to return to his human form, unable to hide his horns and even some of his scales that could still be seen on his face and torso.

He said and then laughed when he saw the afflicted expression on his face, he had taken it very seriously for the tone in which he said it, Zhongli cleared his throat before speaking.
