CHAPTER 98 – THE LAST BADGE, VS GIOVANNI (PART THREE)

In the previous chapter we see how after a hard fight our hero Ash obtain the victory thus qualifying for the Indigo League, then it was the turn of Nancy which had it quite difficult but after an unexpected evolution and thanks to her great confidence in her Pokémon she also wins her last badge, now will be the last battle, Verity.

The battle was over and quickly everyone came to congratulate me as usual.

A few seconds later Giovanni handed me the badge.

"Congratulations, it was a great fight and you deserve it" - he said giving me the Earth Badge.

The moment he gave me the badge, my Rotom Dex came out of my pocket.

"The 100th participant, Nancy from Aspertia City in the Unnova region just got the eighth badge and therefore her participation in the Indigo League, she is the 56th participant to get her eighth badge, congratulations, a message will be sent to her 3 days before the start of the Indigo League to come to the stadium, pay attention!" – that was the Rotom Dex.

Perfect, now I am officially qualified to participate in the Indigo League, all that remains is Verity and we can rest and above all, train.

Nancy and Ash had already won their last gym badge so only I was left and we would all be qualified to participate, so I must win yes or yes, I have to prove to them that I am as good as them, I can not lose.

After a few minutes, Giovanni returned to the battlefield with his new Pokémon and today's latest Pokémon.

Then we both put ourselves in our respective positions.

And his Nidoking went out to the battlefield.

"Then I will use... Breloom I choose you!" – I said.

That's right, I want to win this gym, however, I want to battle with the firsts Pokémon who I started my adventure like Ash and Nancy did.

"Let's not waste time then, Nidoking use Posion Jab!"

"Breloom use Mach Punch!"

Both attacks collided, but since their strength was similar, they both retreated at the same time.

"It seems that we are tied, but let's see how you can withstand a barrage of attacks, Nidoking use Ice Punch non-stop!"

Quickly Nidoking wrapped his fist in a pale blue aura and lunged towards Breloom at a high speed.

"Use Sky Uppercut!"

Both Pokémon collided constantly, punch after punch.

"Breloom use Leech Seed!"

Breloom stopped his punches and threw a Leech Seed at Nidoking, but in return he was hit by Nidoking and sent flying.

"Are you okay Breloom?" – I asked worriedly.

"Loom!" – he nodded.

"Then let's end that Nidoking, Breloom use Mach Punch!"

Breloom quickly headed towards Nidoking.

"Ice Punch!"

Both Pokémon hit their respective blows, however, Breloom fell to the ground completely weakened, apparently all the previous blows tired him a lot.

Although I must say that Nidoking was not much better because he was panting from exhaustion.

"Breloom can't keep fighting, Nidoking... wait a minute!" – said the referee.

I saw what was happening and saw that the Leech Seed had taken effect on Nidoking which fell to the ground weakened.

"Breloom and Nidoking can't keep fighting!" – said the referee.

Apparently both had tired of each other and most likely Nidoking would have won if not for the Leech Seed I came up with to use, it was a good idea on my part I must say.

"Good fight, I didn't expect that ending if I'm honest... but let's start with the next one, Golem I choose you!" – said Giovanni.

"Empoleon I choose you!" – and that was me.

"Let's enjoy this match, Golem use Rollout"

"Let's end this in one blow, Empoleon waits for the moment and grabs Golem!"

Giovanni was surprised, but did not stop the attack of his Golem.

"Your power is amazing Golem, show them your how strong you are!"

Golem accelerated the pace and impacted directly against Empoleon, however, he was able to grab him, although he gradually retreated.

"Goodbye, Empoleon use Hydro Cannon!"

That's right, my plan is to weaken it as quickly as possible and the only way is to launch the most powerful attack as soon as I start.

"No, dodge it Golem!"

But it was impossible because a very powerful Hydro Cannon hit Golem and weakened it with a single blow.

"Golem can't keep fighting, Empoleon wins!" – said the referee.

"Well done Empoleon!" – I said cheerfully.

"Poleon!" - said Empoleon with a smile.

"I didn't expect you to do that, but it's my fault, I didn't foresee that your Empoleon could have Hydro Cannon, I even saw it a couple of times but I didn't notice it, too bad... but now the fight will get harder, Rhyperior I choose you!" – said Giovanni.

I for one decided to leave Empoleon which is perfectly fine, he didn't even take a little damage from the Golem, so changing him would be foolish.

"Rhyperior we can't lose, use Thunder Punch!"

"Dodge it and use Hydro Cannon!"

However, Empoleon did not move... wait a minute... I forgot the side effect of Hydro Cannon, how could I be so dumb?"

And as I feared, Empoleon was struck by Rhyperior and was sent to fly by him.

"I'm sorry Empoleon, it was my fault! Are you okay, do you want to rest?" – I asked with concern.

But Empoleon looked at me and denied as if he were telling me not to worry, that he was fine and that he wanted to continue fighting.

"Don't let him rest, Rhyperior use Thunder Punch again!"

Rhyperior quickly headed towards Empoleon with the intention of hitting him.

"I caught you, use Protect, and then Hydro Cannon!"

"Damn, Rhyperior steps back!"

But Rhyperior could not back down and impacted his attack on the barrier of Empoleon which did not suffer any damage, however, a powerful Hydro Cannon hit Rhyperior sending him flying, but surprisingly did not weaken him, he just damaged him severely.

"Rhyperior don't give up, let's bet everything on the next move, Rhyperior use Rock Wrecker!"

A huge rock formed in front of Rhyperior which seemed to feel some pain from the attack, but I remember wrong, Rock Wrecker was like Hydro Cannon, but Rock type, so basically it is a test of strength.

"We won't lose, Empoleon use Hydro Cannon!"

Both attacks collided causing a lot of wind, both attacks were so powerful that I couldn't even see what was in front of me, but I still made the effort.

From what little I could see, both attacks were tied.

"Empoleon I trust you, I know you can do it, you are the best!" – I shouted.

Empoleon seemed to respond to my feelings and increased the size of his Hydro Cannon causing the huge rock to recede.

"Don't give up Rhyperior, you can!"

But Giovanni also seemed to have a great bond of friendship with his Pokémon because he made his attack push Empoleon's, but when he already gave up the fight, suddenly, a blue aura enveloped Empoleon.

"That's it...!" - said Giovanni alarmed.

"Empoleon's ability, Torrent!" – I said in amazement.

That's right, it's Empoleon's ability, Torrente who boost water moves in a pinch situation.

"Come on Empoleon, crush him!" – I shouted.

And suddenly, the Hydro Cannon doubled in size by breaking the huge rock and directly impacting Rhyperior which fell to the ground completely weakened.

"Rhyperior cannot continue, the winner is Empoleon and therefore, the winner is the challenger Verity!" – ruled the referee.

You can imagine what happened next, a lot of congratulations, a kiss from my amazing boyfriend and the delivery of the badge.

"I must say that you have surprised me and not only you but also your friends, congratulations you deserve the badge – said Giovanni giving me the Earth Badge.

But the moment I received it, my Rotom Dex came out of my pocket.

"The 48th participant, Verity from Hearthome City from Sinnoh region just got the eighth badge and just won the participation in the Indigo League, she is the 57th trainer who has won the 8 gym badges, congratulations, we will be sent a message three days before the start of the Indigo League to come to the stadium, be attention!" – that was the Rotom Dex.

Now I am finally qualified to participate, I will be able to fight for the title of champion of the Indigo League, from now on I will be able to rest but above of all train, there are many months ahead but one cannot sit back and waste time.

After so long we had finally achieved it, finally the three of us qualified to participate in the Indigo League ... Looking back, everything I experienced during this time, it seems incredible that only a few months have passed since I arrived in this world...

To be honest, I am glad, this world has given me a happiness that in my previous world I did not have, a happiness that is not achieved by having money, but a happiness of having family, love, friends, colleagues ... All that I could find in this world.

After a little discussion we decided it was time to eat, so we went to a restaurant, it was not very expensive, rather it was fast food that Molly liked.

When we finished it was already late but we still decided to return to Pallet Town by car, it was difficult because we were 7 people in one car but luckily we managed to arrive safely.

After arriving in Pallet Town we rested for a while on the sofa while watching a somewhat interesting movie.

"To be clear, are you going to continue traveling or will you stay here until the beginning of the Pokémon League?" – my mother asked.

Molly looked at me with expectant eyes even though I already told her what we were going to do.

"The girls and I have decided to stay here and train, there are still a few months left and the girls and I prefer to spend these months here and train with all our Pokémon without exception" - I nodded.

"Are you talking about your Legendary and Singular Pokémon?" – my father asked.

"That's right, Professor Oak lent us the ranch to train, it's very extensive and there's nothing apart from him and other trainers' Pokémon, a perfect place to train" - I nodded.
