CHAPTER 95 – THE TRUTH ABOUT TEAM ROCKET

In the previous chapter we see how our heroes receive Ash's parents who had already returned from their honeymoon and after promising Molly that they would wait the next day to challenge the gym leader so that she could see them, they go to Viridian City but when they were about to arrive, Looker calls them saying that he had discovered something important and that he would see them in the Pokémon gym of Viridian City, when they arrive they see that Looker meets Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket but when they were about to attack them with their Pokémon, Looker teaches them something that makes them doubt.

"An 'R' of another color? I thought the R was red, why is this one rainbow?" - asked Koharu.

"Very good observation, that's right, this R is rainbow and not red like the ones in Team Rocket, which means that the ones in the video are not them" - Looker nodded.

"You see, Giovanni discovered that the name of the organization shown on the screen is known as Team Rainbow Rocket, an organization extremely similar to Team Rocket, the only difference is that this organization are dedicating to stealing other people's Pokémon" - Looker explained.

If I remember correctly Team Rainbow Rocket is a villain team that come out in Alola, if I remember correctly in the video game Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon they appear in the postgame and if I remember correctly it is true that Giovanni himself not only have a Mewtwo but the leaders of the evil teams of all regions have their respective legendaries as well.

On the other hand, in the anime there was no ending to Team Rocket, but I'm almost sure that Team Rocket from the anime was evil... wait, I have a theory, can it be that Team Rainbow Rocket is the Team Rocket of the original timeline and comes here through Ultra Wormhole? Now that I think about it it's not far-fetched.
