CHAPTER 35 – VS ERIKA (PART TWO) (Fixed)

In the previous chapter we see how Professor Cerise informs our tired heroes that there have been sightings of a Latios and Latias in a City known as Alto Mare, but apparently Team Rocket is also aware, so the Professor wants to wait for them to make their moves and send our heroes to help control the situation, on the other hand, now we are in the gym battle against Erika where Ash, managed to defeat two of Erika's Pokémon while Erika only managed to weaken one, now this battle between the two is in the final stretch.

With Ash.

Pikachu had flown out after receiving the Petal Dance.

"Keep up with Petal Dance!"

Without giving a break, Vileplume headed back towards Pikachu who was trying to get up.

"Dodge it and use Iron Tail, give it a good hit!"

Pikachu reacted in time and dodged Vileplume's blow, but this did not disappoint him and he followed Pikachu, however, Pikachu already knew of my plan and instead of using Iron Tail against the Vileplume that could result in another loss, he used Iron Tail against the ground.

Upon impact, the ground shook enough to destabilize Vileplume and cause him to fall to the ground.

"Reincorporate and use Petal Dance!"

Vileplume stood up and used the Petal Dance, however, his movements were erratic.

"That's what I expected, the side effects of the Petal Dance, let's go Pikachu, Iron Tail and send it flying!"

Pikachu nodded and at full speed hit a Iron Tail in Vileplume that sent him flying.

"Vileplume, try to recover and use Sludge Bomb!"

"Too late Erika, Quick Attack!"

And again, Pikachu threw himself into a confused Vileplume and hit a powerful attack that sent him crashing to the ground and falling weakened.

"Vileplume can no longer fight, Pikachu wins and therefore, the winner is the challenger Ash!" – said Luciana.

I'm not going to bore you with what happened next, because it was a lot of congratulations from not only the girls but also Erika's family, including her.

"By the way, before I go for my next Pokémon, give this to your Pikachu" - Erika said, pulling out a yellow bottle.

It was basically an object known as the Antidote, everyone will know about them.

"Thank you, come on Pikachu, this will make you better" – I said taking Pikachu.

Carefully, I sprayed the Antidote to Pikachu which was quickly recovered.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu said cheerfully.

"I'm glad you're good mate and you know that, we won" – I said with a smile.

"Pika pi!" – Pikachu nodded in the same way.

After smiling and giving him the remaining Antidote, Erika went to find her other team, which, as you know, is the same for all challengers.

"Nancy, I think it's your turn, so good luck" - I said giving her a hug.

"Thank you, you'll see, I'll win in a flash!" – he nodded.

"We'll all be here cheering you on" - Verity nodded.

"Cheer up!" – said Koharu.

In a couple of minutes and after Wendy and her mother wished Nancy luck, Erika arrived.

"Are you ready?" – Erika asked Nancy.

"Yes, let's go!" – he nodded.

Then both were placed in their respective positions.

We both put ourselves in our respective places, I will not describe it since all battlefields are the same.

"The rules are simple, it will be a 3 vs 3, the first one that weakens the three Pokémon, wins, let the battle begin!" – said Luciana.

"Come on Tangela, I choose you!"

"Quaxly, let's prove our worth!"

That's right, Ash told me about his strategy to improve and encouraged me to try, then, thinking about it I do not have a Pokémon that is super advantageous against the plant type with the exception of the Sky Form of my Shaymin, so I had no choice but to try the same as Ash, although I must say that, even if I had a fire-type Pokémon, I wouldn't use it, I want to improve too.

"It seems that you will do the same as Ash, but I already tell you that it will not work, Tangela, use Energy Ball, let's finish this quickly!"

"None of that, we are stronger, ski it and use Air Slash!"

Quaxly dodged the attack with ease and connected an Air Slash directly into Tangela which was sent flying.

"Take advantage and use Vine Whip!"

"Dodge it!"

I didn't see that coming and Quaxly couldn't dodge it in time and the Vine Whip hit causing a lot of damage to Quaxly.

"Are you okay?" – I asked worriedly.

"Quax" – nodded.

"That's how I like it, let's hit back, Water Gun!"

"That won't do you, Energy Ball!"

Both attacks impacted, but unfortunately, the Energy Ball was stronger and Quaxly was hit by it, causing it to fly out and take damage again, it is clear that this Tangela was not exactly weak and we were still weak, even after all the training we went through.

"Quax" - Quaxly told me.

When I looked, something happened that I did not expect, a light enveloped Quaxly, it was a light that I had already experienced numerous times, it was evolving.

"Really, another evolution?" – said Erika surprised.

Within a few seconds, Quaxly had just evolved to become...

"Quaxwell's data has been recorded in the Pokédex!" – that was the Rotom Dex.

That's right, now it was no longer Quaxly, but Quaxwell, maybe this was his way of saying that the training was worth it, don't get discouraged and move on... And he's right.

But before he could say anything, Quaxwell raised his hand and a kind of sword made of water, came out of it.

"Aqua Cutter!" – I exclaimed.

"Well" – nodded.

"As it evolves, use Energy Ball!"

"Dodge it and use Aqua Cutter!"

Quaxwell dodged the attack with great ease and used the Aqua Cutter in Tangela, which hit squarely and sent him flying.

"We won't give up, use Sludge Bomb!"

"Neither do we, divert everything with Aqua Cutter!"

Quaxwell used Aqua Cutter to break the Sludge Bomb, which broke him very easily.

"It's the end, Aqua Cutter!"

Quaxwell quickly approached Tangela.

"¡Energy Ball!"

Tangela managed to be part of the Energy Ball that exploded at the moment in which the Aqua Cutter impacted, causing Quaxwell to receive some damage, but, in return, Tangela fell weakened.

"Tangela can't go on, Quaxwell is the winner!" – said Luciana.

"Haa... you've done well, come back" – said Erika returning Tangela to her Pokéball.

Then he looked at me.

"You are really strong, I wouldn't be surprised if Verity was too, so I'll work hard, let's raise the level, Victreebel, let's go!"

Erika's Victreebel came out of her Pokéball.

"Perfect, that's what we want, Aqua Cutter!"

Quaxwell quickly approached Victreebel and connected the attack, however...

"Now, grab it and use Poison Jab!"

"Try to get out!"

But he could not and the Poison Jab directly impacted Quaxwell who twisted his face in pain when he fell to the ground.

"Quaxwell!" – I exclaimed nervously.

"Let's get this over with, Bullet Seed!"

"Aqua Cutter!"

The Bullet Seed hit Quaxwell squarely, but he also managed to connect his Aqua Cutter causing damage to Victreebel.

"Quaxwell can no longer continue, Victreebel wins!" – said Luciana.

"You did well, now it's your turn to rest" – I said returning Quaxwell to his Pokéball.

Then I inspired and expired, and then I took out my next Pokéball.

"Servine, it's time to prove our strength!" – I said pulling Servine out of his Pokéball.

"Let's not delay it longer than necessary, Poison Jab!"

Victreebel threw himself straight towards Servine.

"Dodge it and use Coil!"

Servine was able to dodge the attack and used Enrosque successfully, now our attack and defense went up.

"Don't let him increase his characteristics, use Poison Jab continuously!"

Victreebel threw himself back towards Servine.

"Use Coil on again!"

Before the Poison Jab impacted, Servine was able to do Coil again, the bad thing is that the attack hit Servine making him retreat, however, the Coil was already noticeable and did not receive much damage.

"Heh, use Aerial Ace!"

Servine lunged straight at Victreebel and hit him squarely, which took a lot of damage, but did not weaken him.

"Very well done, but Victreebel and I are more than that, come over and use Poison Jab again!"

"Aerial Ace!"

Both attacks impacted, but Servine's attack had risen thanks to the Enrosque so he sent Victreebel to fly, yes, but not before receiving a little damage, which, despite raising the defense we still suffered a little damage.

"Ser" - Servine exclaimed in pain.

She had apparently been poisoned.

"That's what we were looking for, Poison Jab again!"

"Aerial Ace!"

Victreebel sped to Servine, who was struggling to stand, but still drew strength from where there was none and connected an attack on Victreebel, but Victreebel's attack also hit Servine and both fell to the ground weakened.

"Servine and Victreebel can't continue, it's a draw!" – said Luciana.

"You did well, now leave the rest to Vileplume" – said Erika.

"You too, now rest" – I said doing the same.

Now I only have two alternatives, the first, take out Nidoqueen, which, being poison type the Poison Powder will not affect him, therefore, it will be a relatively easy victory because none of his attacks would hurt Nidoqueen much, while the second is to take out Shaymin, but do not worry about it, I already talked to Erika about it yesterday and told her that I had a Shaymin, but, apparently we cared about nothing, Shaymin was a rare Pokémon, of that there is no doubt, but I was not the only one who owned one unlike Ash's Mew, so taking it out in front of people would not attract much attention, at most they would be interested because it is still a difficult Pokémon to obtain but not at the level of obtaining it by all means, In addition as I was still worried, he also said that anyway this information would not leave the Gym and that he fully trusted Luciana, so I decided to have our first fight together.

"Vileplume, I choose you!"

"Shaymin, it's time to fight!"

Both Pokémon took to the battlefield ready to fight, but first, I took out of my backpack something I bought at the Floaroma Festival, a Gracydean flower and made Shaymin smell it, thus adopting its sky form that is more suitable for combat.

"Perfect, I'll love to fight a Shaymin, let's get started, Sludge Bomb!"

Vileplume dropped a Sludge Bomb.

"Dodge it and use Air Slash"

Shaymin dodged it and rose into the air, then numerous air cuts, shot towards Vileplume.

"Use Sludge Bomb and for all those pits!"

Vileplume did as he was ordered and in fact, stopped many pits, but some others hit him making them back and receiving a lot of damage.

"That's nothing to us, let's go Vileplume, use Poison Powder!"

"Air Slash!"

But something unexpected happened, apparently, the Air Slash dispersed into the air limiting Shaymin's movements.

"Now you can't move, Sludge Bomb!"

"Even if we can't move, it doesn't matter, use Air Slash!"

However, this time it was something different because, although several pits were disintegrated by the Sludge Bomb and vice versa, some of them hit Shaymin making him back like Vileplume.

"Don't enter the Poison Powder zone!"

Shaymin recomposed himself as best he could.

"Take advantage and use Sludge Bomb again!"

"This is too annoying, come on, use Air Slash spinning on yourself!"

That's right, my strategy was similar to Erika's.
