Start of a New Era

"If you're going to fight, do it later." Glaring at them both in turn Wu Zhangkong didn't care for the destruction of their surroundings nearly as much as he did the collateral. Both were quite poor at limiting the damage from their attacks so the damage had spread all across the island.

"Okay~." Lazily responding Gu Yuena didn't feel like it was worth continuing that battle either, the end result was obvious after all. Both of them would lose as always and their lives may be in danger from those last attacks. Even their impressive regeneration may fail to keep them in the world of the living.

"When are you free?" Abruptly questioning their teacher Wulin was genuinely curious. Their teacher was a busy man now that he was not only a teacher of the Outer Court of Shrek but also a rising Title Douluo. His time was split between his duties and his own cultivation so he often didn't have the time to personally teach them.

As a result, most of Class 0 had taken a side teacher of sorts. Wulin had the honor of learning from Yun Ming, Gu Yuena and Xu Xiaoyan studied under Ya Li, Xie Xie the Tang Sect's Speed Hall Master, and Mu Xi learned from the saint ranked smith Feng Wuyu.

"Become a true student of Shrek and you can challenge me whenever you want." Coldly responding to the boy he thought of as his own child Wu Zhangkong turned his back to his students, a smile gracing his features. He had been eagerly awaiting the day they would become his students once more.

As it stood now, they were technically not students but instead something closer to transfer students merely checking out the school. They had all the benefits of an Inner Court student and then some but ultimately they weren't students of Shrek.

Their admission was all but guaranteed but they still had to go through the process of being accepted officially. Only then could Wu Zhangkong spare the time to be their teacher again as it was shockingly hard to teach a class of geniuses as large as his own.

Nodding at his teacher's answer Wulin was excited for the day he'd be able to study under his teacher once again. It had been far too long and Wulin was glad the time was coming so soon. It was just over a month before the test arrived.

"Boss! You've gotta help me! That meteor didn't hit you so it can't possibly count right?!" It was only a brief second of peace before Xie Xie arrived and destroyed it, his loud voice filled with panic as he ran toward them with Xu Xiaoyan dangling from his shoulders.

"No, it counted. You lost the bet." Uncaringly replying to the poor boy Wulin was relieved to see Xu Xiaoyan smile so brightly. She was a girl full of insecurities in worries since she believed she didn't deserve to stand by their side so it was always a priority to squash those worries. 

"Thank you boss~!" Practically floating from joy Xu Xiaoyan hugged Wulin tightly, relief that he was back to normal and excitement for her day out with Xie Xie in her smile. Her idol had been healed and she had gained a fat wallet to use, there was nothing better!

"Hey! If you could hear us with your spiritual sense with everything going on how come you said you didn't hear me at that fish place?" With each word Xie Xie's anger ramped up, the only thing keeping it from exploding outward was his desire to hear Wulin's answer.

Thinking deeply about what Xie Xie was talking about a look of realization crossed his mind. It was an expensive restaurant and Wulin was slightly angered at Xie Xie saying that he couldn't match up to Gu Yuena anymore so he left the bill to the Jade Dragon King's atavist.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Turning away Wulin left those words in the air for a moment before he locked hands with Gu Yuena. "Why don't we go to the gym? I'm interested in what my limits are."

"Would there be any point? All the equipment there is designed for students and the occasional Title Douluo. Do you really think it'd manage to endure your force?" Smiling warmly Gu Yuena's words were nothing less than rational but Wulin could see that she just wanted to hear his answer to Xie Xie.

"As a teacher, I have to ask that you don't destroy the equipment." Smiling somewhat Wu Zhangkong looked at Wulin in amusement. In terms of pure strength, Wu Zhangkong couldn't even begin to compare to the boy and he was a Title Douluo.

"See, even Teacher Wu thinks it's a bad idea! Why don't you just answer me instead?" Xie Xie wore a warm smile on his face that didn't reach his eyes, his grip on Wulin's shoulders strong enough to shatter the bones of even a power type rank thirty.

"If I remember correctly, I've paid for every meal before and after that. It was nice of you to treat me like that." Gently patting Xie Xie on the shoulder with a slight smile Wulin pried his fingers off him and stepped away.

"But… That's…" Failing to think of a way to weasel his way out of this Xie Xie could only stutter angrily. It was true that Wulin was often the class wallet since he never seemed to run out of money but that didn't mean he had to be the one to pay for it! He may be rich but as the Jewel of the Spirit Pagoda wouldn't Gu Yuena have more?!

"It'd be shameful to complain any longer. Give up." Wu Zhangkong's words were harsh but straight to the point, the flame in Xie Xie's eyes dying down. Subtly smiling Wu Zhangkong was glad to see their bond hadn't changed over the year. Children their age tended to be more jealous than most so it was honestly impressive they hadn't had any issues.

"You sure you're the same Wu Zhangkong I know? The one the students call a demon?" It was unsurprising that Yun Ming had gone unnoticed, his curious eyes filled with infinite amusement as he looked at the newest Title Douluo in Shrek.

"They only call me that because they're too soft. These kids endured my training just fine." Wu Zhangkong shook his head in disappointment, his tone calm and serene even in the face of the strongest man alive. The Atlas Douluo deserved respect but Yun Ming was much too easygoing to respect.

"Well, fair enough I guess." Smiling awkwardly, Yun Ming was sure that even he'd struggle under Wu Zhangkong's training at their age. "Anyway, I come with exciting news! With Wulin up and running it's time for the next step. Each of you will get your own special test to attend Shrek!"
