I used the mindlink to call Rocco over, to me he was the ideal man for the job. For one, I knew that although he didn't say it out loud, he entertained thoughts that Kian had a hand in Kat's murder. And secondly, he had principles he could never compromise on, such as lying to make himself appear right.

Kian must've been sharing my thoughts, because the moment Rocco stepped inside he asked him to conduct the test, satisfying all ends.

Like Kian suggested, Rocco sniffed the knives first, then he sniffed Kian's food, then he did it the other way round, careful not to miss a single stench. After about three minutes of doing this he came to his conclusion.

"The knives do not have the same scent as this toxin, it's impossible that this herb was chopped in this kitchen." He declared, placing a lid on the matter.

I decided to step in, "Are you certain about that?"
