School starts (Rewrite)

(Oak POV)

Oak was currently thinking of how he could get Giovanni's son into his school without anyone suspecting something. Over all the years that he had lived in Pallet Town no other children from other regions or towns had ever come to the school in Pallet.

But that gave him an idea, 'If I let in other children from different regions and towns, no one will suspect Silver specifically. I should ask my colleagues in other regions to recommend some children to join my school.' he thought as his plan was slowly starting to take shape

Oak then went over to his Computer and contacted other professors from other regions, and some friends from other towns to recommend a new batch of students to join Oak's school.

(Ash POV)

(A few months later)

Ash was sitting on his bed, wearing a Lucario hoodie, trying to meditate as he was thinking about everything that has happened, 'After a few months of training, there are two main things of note. First, I've been getting better at sensing, but I haven't mastered it yet. I probably could have by now, but Sir Aaron told me to progress slowly, otherwise, I might get corrupted, and I don't want that. No matter, I don't have a time limit anymore, so I can take as much time as I need.'

'Second, Professor Oak's school is starting this coming Monday. I'll finally get to learn from the man himself. I need to be ready, there's no telling what else might be different, so I'll need to learn as much as I can. But first... more training.' Ash thought as he kept trying to push Aura around his small body

(On Monday)

"Ash, come downstairs! You need to go to class, you can't sleep in on the first day of school!" Delia called out, trying to get Ash moving, as she had his lunch ready

"I'm already up and ready, but me personally I would never be caught sleeping in," Ash yelled as he ran down the stairs.

"Well, good to know you're as energetic as always. Would you like for mommy to walk you to school?" Delia asked with a smile, as she gave Ash his Bento for today

Ash looked a little dumbfounded. "Mom Seriously? It's down the corner. I'll be fine walking alone. But thank you!" he said taking his Bento then giving Delia a quick hug, "Bye love you!"

Delia smiled hugging Ash tightly before he could escape, "Bye, Ash! Love you!" Delia said finally letting him go and waving as he ran out.

As Ash stepped outside, he noticed Gary was also heading out to school, so he walked over, waving his hand up

"Hey Gary, you're walking to school alone too?" Ash asked to get his attention.

Gary looked over and saw Ash walking over to him Gary nodded, "Oh hey, Ash. Yeah, Daisy left for her classes earlier, and it's literally down the corner," he said, glancing toward the school building less than a block away.

"Cool lets go together then, you think we should pick up Green or is she already there?" Ash said as they started walking together.

"Nah, her parens probably dropped her off already," Gary shook his head as he looked up into the sky, Hey, did you hear? Apparently, Gramps is letting kids from other towns and regions join the school, kinda weird don't you think?"

That made Ash genuinely confused, "What? Isn't the fact that no one but people from Pallet and those recommended by Oak himself allowed to even come into Pallet, much less to study under him."

Gary just shrugged. "Apparently, he wants to give others the same opportunities or something. So he asked his friends to recommend some kids to join us."

Ash frowned slightly as he crossed his arms, 'That's... concerning. What made Oak suddenly decide to let outsiders in? People have tried and failed to bribe him for years. So what changed? What's the real reason?' he thought but said nothing, and before he could dwell on it too long, they arrived at Professor Oak's school.

As they walked into the large building, they headed to the auditorium, where Oak stood on stage. The room was filled with more kids than usual, definitely more than Pallet Town alone could have. As they sat down, Oak began speaking, thanks to the magic of plot convenience.

"Hello everyone, welcome to my school. As you all may know I am Professor Oak, but you may know me as the Pokemon professor, all of you are here for your reasons and some of you may be confused, but worry not, I have chosen to allow my colleagues to recommend students from other regions to join, as to see if there may be a positive effect to a more diverse school." Oak said, to some students' excitement and some students' dismay.

'Right, and Team Rocket just wants to expand our knowledge about Pokemon and make mermaid Pokemon, they don't want a weapon of mass destruction. Yeah, I don't believe that for a second, if that was his goal he had nearly 20 years to do that. So what is the real reason?'

Oak continued, "To help everyone get to know each other, I'd like each of you to come up and introduce yourselves. Say your preferred name and what you want to become. We'll start with students from Pallet, then move on to everyone else, alphabetically. No need to be nervous, we're all friends here."

'Well, I guess that means I'm up first,' Ash thought as he stood up and made his way to the stage, the rest of the Pallet kids lining up behind him

"Hello, you all can call me Ash, and I want to be a Pokemon trainer."

"Hey, I'm Gary Oak and I will be a Pokemon master"

"Hello you can call me Green I want to become a Pokemon trainer"

As those from Pallet finished, he noticed only he, Gary, and Green want to be Pokemon trainers.

"Thank you, everyone, now for everyone else, come up and say your preferred name where you come from, and what you want to be," Oak said trying to let others feel welcomed as well.

As he said that some children came up on stage, there were a few unfamiliar faces but there were also some faces he recognized.

As Ash was listening to this so many things were going through his head, 'Why were so these people here, If Chloe is here why is Goh not here? How and why are they here? And how will this be different? And why is becoming a Pokemon trainer so rare.'

Before he could dig deeper into his questions, Oak began speaking."Well, this was a very productive day, I ho—"

"WAIT!!"

As everyone looked through the door a small blond kid was running through, "Barry from Sinnoh, and I will become a Pokemon trainer." As he got inside he said, "Sorry I'm late I slept in."

Oak simply shook his head with a chuckle. "That's alright, my boy. Just… maybe try not to cause such a loud commotion next time. "Turning back to the crowd, Oak continued, "As I was saying, I hope we can all get along with each other. Now, onto the next matter, classes. There will be a few core subjects that everyone must take, such as Pokémon History. Beyond that, you may choose electives based on your interests or future goals. You can take as many as you'd like, but please don't overwork yourselves."

He paused to let that settle in before continuing."Next, due to the number of students this year being far greater than usual, you'll be split into different class groups based on how you were recommended."

Oak then looked around and decided to address a problem some people might have, "And some of you might be asking why there are so many people form different parts of the world just for school, well It is simple, at the beginning of the day and at the end, my Alakazam teleport you back and forth, or if you wish to go earlier you may just ask whenever you like, that way no one becomes homesick too soon and you an still be with your frends back home."

"And lastly, before I let you all socialize and begin looking over the class list, while I encourage freedom, I must ask you to remain enrolled at least until your region's minimum age requirement for beginning a journey. I know some of you are eager to get out there, but unfortunately, those rules are out of my hands."

"Other than that, I'll let you all look through the class options. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for your first official day." With that, students began passing around a pamphlet listing the available classes, while others started wandering off to explore or socialize.

The required classes ranged from math, Pokemon Biology, English, Basic Pokemon Knowledge, Ect.

And the elective classes ranged from Pokemon battling, inventing, contests, care of Pokemon, pokemon research, medical fields, etc. Even some specific professions like Ace trainer, and Rangers.

Looking around a bunch of people were doing different things May and Dawn were hitting it off, makes sense they both want to do contests and like bird-like Pokemon. There were the people that seemed to know each other before coming here like Bianca and Cheren, and then there are the introverts like Wally and Yellow and the extroverts like Bianca and Tierno. And then there was the angry corner with Paul and Silver.

Ash glanced down at the course list in his hands, 'Well, I might as well apply to as many as I can. Knowing the original me, he probably just took the required classes and dipped. But now? I have a plan'

Looking around seeing everyone talking, even Gary is talking to some people, 'I might as well talk to everyone since I'll be with them in classes.'

So hey the school ark is starting and believe it or not, I had more characters planned but got rid of a lot so there would be 9 named boys and 9 named girls, I chose them based on what I thought I could make a better story with.

Believe it or not, I originally had it doubled, and had every Main character from the manga.

I will not make this an academic slice of life, I will establish time skips and important information to the story. So don't worry for those of you who don't like this sort of thing.
