"My Queen, you have a visitor," Fae Queen Maeve's handmaiden announced with her head lowered in courtesy.
Queen Maeve lifted her face from the mirror, looking out through the open window, her brow raised questioningly, "This late? I am about to go to bed. Can't it wait until tomorrow?"
"I believe it's urgent and there might not be another opportunity like this one. She wants to meet you now, my queen."
"Hmmmm," The Queen hummed before waving to the servants who had been removing the ornament in her braided hair and dressing her up for the night to leave, "Bring her in." She ordered.
Her handmaiden retreated, but not without bowing her head, only to return moments later with a Fae who wore a cloak, concealing her identity.
"My Queen, here she is," The maiden announced, gesturing to a figure who stepped out from behind her and came to kneel before the Queen.
