Chapter 11: The Omegas

Oh, so that's 001.

The female omegas had their respective cups of bubble tea in their hands, and Laura was staring daggers at them. She's dressed in a crop top and skinny jeans, her purse was in her hand along with her jacket. Liam recognized the dark skinned omega on her right. Angela stood a head taller than Laura, it's not much honestly, still shorter than Liam, but she looks impressive when she's wearing gold jewelry and a lovely flowery sundress. The last girl is on the omega's left; Liam has seen her around but never talked to her nor learned her name. Her dyed purple hair made her stand out from her friends, and she's wearing a black hoodie and shorts. Liam's eyes looked at the cup in her hand, iced peach tea with tropica pearl, with approval.

"What are you doing here?" Laura asked them, and Mar cleared his throat as omega pheromones came out in bulk from the females. They're angry for some unknown reason, and it shows.

"Getting bubble tea, of course." His best friend looked at the omega.

"Who is that?" Angela pointed a perfectly manicured nail at Blue, who's still sandwiched between Liam and Mar. Her tone suddenly became accusing, and the platinum blond alpha wanted to send out into space. "It's barely two days since you broke up, and you're already with another omega?"

Liam snorted. Laura was at his door on the same day she broke up with his best friend. However, the taller alpha didn't say anything, just put his arm around Blue, who flinched a little.

Then, Mar also put his arm around Blue's shoulder, overlapping with Liam's. Poor little Baby Blue yelped at the extra weight.

"She's a beta, Angela. I can't smell her." Laura said to her friend.

"No, she's an omega! I can sense her pheromones!" The purple haired omega chimed in.

"She looks like an omega." Angela frowned a little, and then her sandy brown eyes stared at Blue again. "But she has no scent."

Laura's sharp eyes moved from Liam down to the omega in between the alphas. "You're right, Judy. She is an omega."

"Come on..." Mar dragged Blue away from the girls, which also pulled Liam. "They're not worth talking to, Baby Blue."

The three of them wobbly made their way to the pick up counter, where the store employee was packaging their orders. Behind them, the three omegas looked very scandalized.

"Baby Blue?!?" Angela gagged as she looked at them. "Can you believe this shit, Laura? He's trying to make you jealous—"

"Maybe it's a nickname?" The purple haired one said. "Liam put his hands on her first, so maybe she's Liam's girl and not Mar's?"

"I..." Blue wanted to say something, but she backed down. However, it's enough to catch the girls' attention.

"Speak up, darling." Angela made her way to the trio picking up their orders, and Liam rolled his eyes as he took his arm off Blue.

Mar took the opportunity to pull the omega to his side and handed her her drink. Then, purple eyes looked at the crowd, and a smirk came on Mar's face.

"Laura, you remember Blue? This is her."

It took three seconds for Laura to explode, and Liam stood his place next to Blue, who's innocently drinking her bubble tea. Of course, of course... As Mar's girlfriend, Laura was definitely going through his gallery at one point, and Liam could imagine his best friend trying to explain to his girlfriend that the young woman in the picture with him at the beach isn't someone he's cheating on her with.

"That's Blue?" His best friend's ex stomped up to them, her eyes ranging. "It's obvious now, isn't it? You already have eyes for other omegas—"

"She's like our sister." Liam interrupted Laura. "Sorry to burst your bubble, Laura. She's in our brotherhood."

Behind Laura, her friends looked at one another, then back at the scene. Angela's heels clicked on the floor as she made her way towards them.

"You're telling me," Angela grimaced as she looked at Blue. "This omega is your friend?"

The purple haired omega was ready to hold her friend back, but she changed her mind last minute when Angela began shouting.

"Don't you understand scent markings at all? Or you've been fucked so much that your scents left you?" The tall omega's pheromones flared, and Blue flinched back. "A young omega rolling around with two alphas and expecting people to believe that you're friends? Their scents are all over you!"

"Get the fuck away from her Angela!" Mar pulled Blue closer to him, and his eyes blazing, but at the same time Liam saw mischief. "What we do is none of your business—"

"You!" Laura looked at Liam, the blond alpha glared back at her.

"What ya?"

"You're into..." The omega female gestured towards Blue. "That thing?"

The taller alpha pressed his lips into a hardline. Then, he released his pheromones on full blast. The purple haired omega was the first to be affected, and she gagged. Angela gave him a disapproving look, and Laura took a step back.

"Blue, why don't you introduce yourself?" Liam said, his voice smooth and calm despite his pheromones saying otherwise.

"Hello, m-my name is Blue." Jet black eyes looked at the other omegas. "I'm a-an omega, but I-I-I have a c-condition. I-I don't h-have a s-scent. I-I-I can't r-really s-smell others either."

"Oh, so you're like a beta?" The purple haired one piped up. "But I can still sense your pheromones, kid!"

"Y-yes." Blue nodded cautiously. "I'm also o-older t-than you."

"You look like a freshman." Laura sighed and rolled her eyes.

Then, Liam watched in real time as the realization slowly set itself on Laura's face. Hmm... Maybe at one point, Mar did tell Laura about Blue, about how their parents wanted them to be engaged when they were just kids, about how when Blue hit puberty and showed no scent.

"She graduated high school when I just started." Mar patted Blue's shoulder. "She's getting her masters now. So proud of our baby Blue."

Liam ran his hand through her hair as he stopped giving out his pheromones. If Blue could actually smell anything, it would be comforting for her to have an alpha lightly scenting her like this. Angela was sending daggers his way, but he couldn't care less.

"I'm sorry, Blue." Laura suddenly apologized, causing her friends to double back.

"Whaaa?" The purple haired omega — Judy? — latched on to Laura's side. "I thought we're grilling this bitch."

Angela was about to say something, but Laura beat her to it. "She has a disability. Imagine you can't smell alphas, and imagine trying to get with an alpha, too."

"It-it's not r-really a d-dis-isability either." Blue added, her eyes didn't leave the girls. "I-I just h-have a harder time s-socializing. I've d-dated n-no one for the exact r-reasons you mentioned. I-I usually can't t-tell the difference between an alpha and a beta if they don't s-show pheromones."

"Girl..." Angela looked somewhat guilty, but she still kept her chin high. "You still shouldn't play around with alphas."

"We've been like this our entire lives." Mar sighed. "She can't smell us, so she doesn't care."

"She doesn't have any friends either." Liam doesn't know about that one, but he doesn't know if Rex counts as her friend. That guy sucked even though he's kinda close to Blue, so the platinum blond alpha placed him in the possible coward who backed away from asking her out.

Scent marking is so also important in an omega's bond to other omegas. Liam remembered how Blue was an outcast even among her cousins.

"S-socialization is just hard in g-general." Blue bit her lower lip as she looked up at Liam. "B-but I'm g-glad you guys p-put with me. Ooh, als-s-so, Rex s-sent m-me here t-to help you p-pack. R-Rex w-w-will pick you up t-tomorrow."

Both Mar and Liam cringed at the same time. To be honest, the taller alpha doesn't have enough faith in Rex to let him drive, let alone pilot a plane.

"Why must it be him?" The black haired alpha groaned.

"Who even is Rex?" Judy asked out of genuine curiosity.

"My brother." Mar looked pained saying that.

"Which one is he?" Laura took a step closer to them, as if they weren't hostile to each other a few minutes ago. "You have like seven brothers, Mar."

"He wasn't there when you came with us last year." Liam's taking over this time, and his blue eyes glared at Laura. "He's the one everyone's complaining about not showing up. Now when he shows up, everyone's gonna complain that he's here."

"Anyways, baby Blue, I wanna show you around town, and Liam's gonna write an essay about why you should apply for your PhD here." Mar began dragging the omega to the door, and the platinum blond alpha took one last look at the girls before following behind Mar.

"Wait!" A hand grabbed Liam's wrist, and he looked back to see Laura's face too close to his arm. "You're going with Mar? On his vacation?"

"What do ya think?" The taller alpha bit back, and pulled his arm away from her. "Every year for ten years, I won't get uninvited anytime soon."

"You're his lap dog, so you're always invited." Angela remarked as Liam took long strides to catch up with his best friend.
