Rogue Demi-monster
I finally reached the forest and took a deep breath, 'ah fresh air!' It was hecka muggy in that cave, and pretty hard to breathe.
This is one of the main reasons I don't hide underground or make holes in caves because I know I will just run out of oxygen if I try to do that!

I looked at the sky, it was dark out, I needed to just set up camp and head back to the city tomorrow.
I proceeded to make a small campsite, I set up a tent, put down a log to sit on, and placed down a campfire, it was cold out here being in the hills and all.
I still had my guard up though, a monster could come at me at any time. I was also getting hungry, I remembered collecting some raw beef on my way here, might as well cook it in the fire!

These are starting to look good! The raw beef was cooking in the fire, it was starting to turn brown (became steaks), While I was cooking, I sensed an eerie presence lurking around me.
Could there be a monster in the vicinity? Carefully, I picked up one of my iron swords from the log I was seated on.
.... I heard a footstep, it wasn't straight behind me, but in the distance, I jumped up and scanned the area behind me, I had my sword in my right hand, and a torch in the left.
"Who's out there!?!?!" I warned I was feeling a bit concerned, I had no idea what I was facing for how quiet it was, but finally, I heard a somewhat familiar voice shortly after.
"Stay back! I am- wait a second..." The figure said
I pointed my torch in the figure's direction, my weapon dropped in reaction.
"Takeo... is that you?"
"Woah!" I paused "What are the odds," I said happily shaking my head. It was Rei, the "Skeleton" girl I met a while back, what was she doing here at this time?
"You idiot," she chided me. "I could've shot you! What are you doing all the way out here all alone at night?"
"What? Things just sort of just happened...."
"Ugh, Idiot..." She facepalmed "I'm surprised you haven't run into any hostile monsters yet!"
"Well, you have a point, it would be a lot safer to have someone with me!" I said smiling slyly as I expected her to reject my offer.
Rei shook her head in exasperation, "W-What?!? No way! I have better things to do than just-"
"Come on, Rei. You know you want to. You can keep me safe with that fancy bow of yours," I interrupted
"Fine," she said with a sigh, taking a seat beside me by the fire. "But only for a little while."

After our strange reunion, I invited Rei to stay at the fire for a 'little while.'
"So what are you doing out here in the open anyway?"
"Caves are more dangerous at nighttime" I explained "I mean seriously, some guy made a song explaining why you shouldn't mine at nighttime!"
She looked at me confused "Okay? I'm just gonna pretend I know what you're talking about.... And being out here is safer?"
"I mean, you're out here too, aren't you? Don't you have somewhere safer to be?"
"I have others nearby, you see we're looking for someone!"
"Interesting," I said, I looked at the fire and noticed my food was done, I picked up a few pieces and turned to Rei, "Want a piece of steak?" I offered
"Umm, I don't know..."
I took a bite of one of them and swallowed it "See? They're perfectly safe to eat!"
"Come on, that's not what I meant... whatever, just give me one!" she said in a stubborn tone (You submitted to that decision rather fast!) I could read it on her face she wanted some to begin with, heck I'm 90% sure the food I was cooking was the reason she came here, to begin with!
"Mm, this is delicious!" Rei exclaimed
I continued to eat the piece I started on, 'yeah, this was pretty good, and I didn't even season it or anything!'
We ate by the fire for a while, I got rather curious about something "So, who are you guys trying to look for anyway?"
"Oh, I wasn't around at the time, but my group was attacked by a mysterious figure!"
"You don't know much about them?" I asked a bit concerned
"I do have some information from one of their reports... Let's see here..."
"The target's first name is Kai, last name unknown, and his assumed race seems to be an drowned..."
"If a drowned has a name, I'm assuming he became part human again with enough xp right?" I asked
"All I know is that he's around this forest somewhere!"
"That's.... reassuring..." I said a bit uneasy
"Honestly, I thought YOU were him at first!" Rei joked (That explains a lot)
"Thankfully I wasn't, why did he attack your team?"
"We had someone special with us, Kai found out who it was and said 'We had someone with the plague with us' strangest thing was, he didn't kill anyone else except his target."
"And so you're trying to get more information on the matter?"
"We're trying to shut him down!"
"Oh I see, that situation does feel rather strange," I said in thought
Who was this strange drowned guy? I wish I had more information on the topic...
"You probably shouldn't stay here, he's out to hunt otherworlders specifically!" Rei warned
"yeah I- wait, how did you know I was a-"
"Oh please, it was obvious from the start, any human from this world would've attacked me on sight, instead you helped me without a second thought! You don't see us as 'just monsters', but as other people yourself! Only otherworlders would act like that!"
Her words had a profound impact on me, man she was smart! I guess I do jump to things fast around here...
Come to think of it, Richard acted the same way towards Teles, was he secretly an otherworlder too? Naw, he would've told me if he was by now!
"You aren't much safer out here alone either, we should stick together!" I proposed
"I don't know...This is going to be dangerous!"
"If things go wrong, I have a trick up my sleeve!"
"And that is?"
"Check this out!" I said trying to show off
I proceeded to reach out my arm and focus, my hand glowed green, and poof! Instantly a bow appeared in my hand, it was the same bow that Rei had on her back, I can't believe I was able to make it work again!
"Wha!?!?" Rei replied in shock
"Pretty cool right?" I said with a smirk
"I've never seen anyone- h-how did you do that?"
I shrugged "I guess it was something I awakened when fighting zombies who had weapons." I explained
"That isn't really that good of an explanation!" Rei said as I threw her bow back.
"But it's cool right?"
"yeah I guess, but I'm not sure if that alone can stop the guy!"
"Well, I know you never met him in person, but can you relay whatever information you have on him?"
I might not even come across this unknown figure, but in case I do, I need whatever I can get so I can be prepared!
"Oh, sure, let's see...."

The targets are sprinting out of the forest, where are they even trying to go at this point???
I need to hurry up and get rid of the invasive species, they are nothing more but a plague to this world!
As the targets exit the forest I arm myself with one of my tridents, I leap off one of the trees and throw the trident at the backs of one of the invasive species. It hit them spot on, they got electrocuted and fell forward, this one was now dead!
The trident came out of the corpse of my target and flew back into my hand, I turn and was now face-to-face with the other one.
"W-Why? Why are you doing this!?!?" They said shaking on the ground
"You people shouldn't have come to this place, you are.... unwelcomed" I replied
"I-I didn't have a choice!!! I swear!"
"Then think of this as doing a favor for everyone!" I said getting ready to strike with my trident
"Noooo, I haven't even got to go home yet! AAAAHHHHH!!!!!"
"....." silence, I Impaled my other target.
I didn't want to do this, but if it purifies this world, and gets me xp to turn completely human again, then I don't mind.
However, the rest of this goal of mine isn't going to be easy, I know that the skeleton group is on my tail, but I don't know why they want to defend the otherworlders so much!?!? Don't those skeletons know that otherworlders are just the plague to this world!?!?
I shouldn't dwell on this so much, I have a job to do, and if it means killing other demi-monsters so be it, nothing is going to get in my way of saving this world before... THAT starts...
