Moving this to another account. You'll find it under the same name.
I watched as the cars passed by the hospital that I sat in.
I looked on in envy as people went about their day, walking this way and that, taking for granted their ability to walk, to run, to feel the earth around them as they went about their day.
The doctors had told me that I would not survive tonight and I believed them, the constant ache of my legs, the unbearable headache that just seemed to grow. It all pointed towards a horrible death filled with pain.
There was only one thing I wanted to do before I died though and that was to feel the earth beneath me even if it would ultimately lead to my death. I knew that I was living on borrowed time and even the walk there would be a perilous journey.
However if I was to die today, then I would go out on my own.
With harsh footsteps, from feet that had long gone unused, I crawled my way towards the door. My feet echoed throughout the busy hall, none of the staff were paying attention to me.
Although I thought it weird, I was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Further and further down the white walls I went until I met with a door, carefully I pushed it open, the muscles in my arms struggling to muster the strength to do even this bit of exercise.
With a final heave I opened the door, revealing the outside of the hospital.
Feet bare I walked past the blazing concrete and into the grass.
It was indescribable how amazing it felt, to be able to feel the grass between my feet, to feel the soft breeze splash across my pale skin.
I curled my toes feeling the dirt fill in the space between them.
Taking in all of these sensations was bliss for me, but it was not to last, I could feel the strength leaving me.
As my eyes closed, as darkness overtook me, I was glad to know that my final moments were of such wonderful feelings.
…
My eyes opened to a world of green, surprise filling my body as I looked around. There was nothing around me but trees, an endless forest filled with vegetation.
'What!?' I thought to myself, the constant pain in my legs, the lingering headaches, and even the everpresent pain of being that I had grown so used to was all gone.
Flexing my fingers, moving my arm, I had expected for a sharp pain to occur but nothing happened.
If someone was to look at me, they would no doubt see me grinning like a maniac, I don't know who, or even how I was healed but I thank whoever did this.
It was then while I was wondering on this that a note appeared in my hand filled with writing.
…
If you are reading this… then you are dead. It is of no fault of anyone's, you were to die that day anyway. However I had further use of you.
You may have noticed that you are not in that dreadful hospital anymore. That is because I have taken your body, healed it, and placed it on this realm.
Do not worry, I have given you a gift, something to keep you alive.
Your duty though is of another nature. Descend the dungeon, find the secrets, entertain me!
Sincerely, a bored god
…
With that final line the paper in my hands burst into dust, the particles fading into the air.
A stinging pain began to affect my hand only for it to disappear as soon as it appeared.
Looking down I saw what looked like an arrow separated into three parts. The arrow head, the shaft, and the feather.
GOOOOOAAAA
My attention was drawn away from the tattoo that was tattooed onto my hand by a terrible roar.
I could hear my heart beating in my chest, the fear overtaking me. Instincts long passed moving my legs, but it was all for naught.
A green creature, the ugliest thing that I had ever seen, appeared from the vegetation.
A feral expression lit its face as it saw me, the rusty dagger in its hand was waved, its legs were kicked off the ground as it dashed toward me.
The stubby legs that had never exercised were no match for whatever the creature was.
And in moments it was upon me, the dagger raised to pierce my eye.
swish
An almost silent arrow pierced the creature's head sending it into the tree, nailed onto it by the arrow.
A hand was raised to me, I looked up and saw the most beautiful sight.
A girl with long unkempt green hair with some animals ears raised on her head, a tail swishing behind her, a serene expression on her face as she stared me straight in the eyes.
"Are you to be my partner on this god's whim?"
