Rhys did not really know what to do. His feelings weren't as conflicted as Katarina, his gut, however, was another thing altogether. Rhys knew he lacked some things in the mental department, but he knew enough that if they went through with this, their relationship would never be the same again — and that is what he valued the most, even more so than himself, were Katarina and the others and his relationship with them.
