Chapter 1Demon invasion

The world used to be so beautiful.

Stunning landscapes just around the corners, the natural wonders combined with the intrical details of lifes gave humanity the unlimited opportunities and experiences to grow and gave them joy, fulfillment.

They grew and with them the world, until even that faltered as the most beautiful landscapes burned down, until not even ashes where left. Naturel wonders they grew up with and cherished would vanish as fast as snow would melt on the hottest day.

Everything that was once, will never be again as a day like just another turned into a day like never before.

The year 2024 started with a disaster.

All life on earth changed as soon as dawn hit.

Dozens of portals opened with weird looking monsters coming through.

Countless screams echoed around as more and more appeared, not only on the ground but also on the sky.

Mounstrous looking beings appeared in it, their wings causing buildings to fall over and left strong, working human beings in a harmless pile of human bones and skins. Until they all landed wherever there was space. Some landed on skycrapers, their claws ripping into glass and cement alike.

Scrapes falling down onto crowds of running, frightened humans and animals alike.

Not one of the monstrous beings batted an eye as a glass shard ripped apart a puppy's neck, neither at the child and mother ,not even including the countless bystanders, getting crushed by a huge block of cement.

The only thing visible was the red blood seeping from underneath the block as rain fell with a slow pitter patter.

It didn't take long before more blood combined with rain as left and right the winged beings crashed directly on groups of humans, some of them even screeched loudly causing more buildings to fall all around them.

Screech so loud that the closest living beings eardrums shattered and the screech echoed before taking away any chance at life.

Ten minutes hadn't even passed and countless humans across the world had already died, sheep scooped up and swallowed in one bite.

It was an empressive display, deadly but nonetheless impressive.

However there was one that was thought to never die.

A reported dutifully filming the happenings.

It wasn't unnoticed by the leader, whose glowy bottomless eyes strayed at the reporter.

With a slight tilt, a foot lifted and immediately what had looked like black heavy armour turned into a moving gluey living substance only to return to it's form once the foot landed.

Even at a safe, well safer, distance it didn't take long before the leader reached the reporter and a voice sounded simultaneously in everyone's heads

All over the world.

Deep, rough, gutteral....unnatural.

Raspy yet every single person understood the threat behind it.

An hour they where given to relent their hold on the planet, to surround and bow down to the rule of demons.

To forever live as servants and know nothing more.

After the small yet powerful threat a finger lifted and the gluey substance touched the screen without much trouble, said screen cracked, barely showing the flickering silhouette that landed back in it's original spot.

An hour they where given and they failed to do what was expected.

As soon as the one hour mark was hit, everything hit the start button.

Monstrous beings flew up and rapidly approached the hurdels of military, sweeping them off their feet.

A few unfortunates ones got grabbed and flown up, high, high and higher.

Until out of vindicate pleasure the beings loosened their grip and watched as the humans crashed to their death.

Screams like music to their ears, so tasty that they went for seconds.

The military was defenseless as normal guns bounced off their skins, stronger weapons merely swallowed by the weird substance on the demon's skin.

In the hour civilians had been rushed to safe places, protected with countless of military yet the beasts had a way of smelling them out.

Bunkers thought to be secure got ripped right from the ground as the beasts miraclously worked together, talons thightly gripping and coming through the cements.

Between the talons hung ripped of heads, dangling by their hair as their bodies fell upon other's. The place so crowdded that there was barely place to breath yet screams once more ran wild.

This continued in every single town, city, land or continent alike.

It continued and continued only the last of humanity thought the end was near.

Eight billion.

That was the amount they had in the morning and yet it wasn't even evening and they where left with less then 1 percent of the total population.

79 million people shivered in fear when they gor rounded up like sheeps.

Winged beasts kept them in place as different demon's from on the ground approached.

The same black stuff on their bodies, however less black, a different shade of grey.

When they finally approached excitement sparked the surroundings, the grey gluey stuff now swimming enthousiastly around even with the demons standing perfectly still.

Just like with their leader their hands simultaneously stretched out, the substance dancing around their fingers before, with simple command wfrom their leader, it attacked.

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.
