"How could that bitch be so lucky?" Elise muttered as she paced back and forth in the living area of their home. She had returned home after finishing her studies overseas and was waiting for the announcement of her engagement with Prosecutor Ji's son. Although she had yet to meet her fiance, she heard from Cayden that he was quite a decent man.

"No wonder she was so arrogant the last time we'd seen her." Cayden scoffed as he sat on the couch. The mere thought of Adrienne and Hunter was enough to sour his mood. He still couldn't accept that Adrienne's bodyguard was supposed to be the real heir of the Jiang family.

"She must have seduced him," Camilla nodded, thinking that her stepdaughter was unpredictable and untouchable now. She took a liking to humiliating and bullying Adrienne because she just looked like her mother.
