Immense heat was radiating to the surrounding.

"Heated long sword, this girl is stronger and reckless than I thought." Shun thought

Shun took a defensive stance. Yuki swung her swords using Wind Breathing to create two air projectiles. Shun used his katana to block the air projectiles. Shun saw his katana beaming hot as the place where he slashed the air projectiles.

"The heat transfers to the breathing techniques as well. This is new information but I must adapt." Shun thought

Yuki dashed behind while Shun was thinking, Shun turned around in an instant. Yuki swung her blades at Shun. Shun tried to parry it but her blade's position was hidden by the overwhelming amount of steam. Shun had no other choice but to block and dashed back.

"Using water breathing with her blade creates steam? I can't find the center of force to parry due to steam. If I keep blocking like this my blade is going to be nicked. I must attack first. Using water breathing is clever of her cause it is much easier to control those blades" Shun thought

With an exhale, Shun unleashed Thunder Clap and Flash, Improved Form.

(Thunder Clap and Flash, Improved Form; This is one of the Thunder Breathing Forms that is improved close to perfection. This form specializes in an unleashing indefinite amount of Thunder Claps and Flashes which increases the speed of the attack each cast. The speed will increase . the user hits his/her limit.)

With every cast, a thunderous noise followed. The dash speed was increasing exponentially. To Eric and Alan, Shun was just a yellow line that was dashing back and forth toward Yuki. The crowd was cheering and excitied to see this battle. Yuki took on an defensive stance and kept her guard up despise the overwhelming attacks by Shun. Shun was using his quickdraw augment but Yuki's blades were too thick and well forged to cut through. With every slash, Shun saw Yuki smile in excitement.

"Come on, Is that all you got?" exclaimed Yuki while blocking Shun's attacks.

Shun stayed quiet and focused on attacking.

"Her blades are well forged so it hard to find a weak point. I can continue the using Improved form but it seems like a stalemate" Shun thought.

As Shun dashed back to continue his attacks, Yuki dropped her guard and swung her swords again through thin air

"She seems to trying to create some air projectiles again. Since the improved form as reach my max limit, I can use this opening to strike and end this once it for all." Shun thought

Yuki's blades released from the hilt, and a range extended using cable. Yuki swung the hilt and blade gain momentum. Shun was in the strike range. He had to stop and try to block. The metal clashed, but the Yuki's extended blades had too much force. Shun's katana was getting pushed back due to the sheer force of the strike. Shun couldn't keep his guard up, Yuki's blades digged though his left's shoulder flesh. Shun's shoulder was getting cut and burned at the same time. Shun dashed back in pain. Yuki retracted the blades via the cables back to its former self. Due to the pain, Shun lost his grip on his katana, and it fell to the ground. Shun was trying to stop the bleeding by applying pressure using his right arm.

"Oh no, the wolf got hurt. You should surrendered from the beginning" Yuki said with a smirk on her face.

The some of the crowd stopped cheering and was worried for Shun, some kept cheering for Yuki. Eric sent a slayer to called a medic.

Yuki came closer,

"You should taken the Arsenal's path. Surrendering is still a valid option since the wound I gave will prevent you from fighting" said Yuki with a smile.

Shun picked up the his Katana and stood up. Blood was slowly flowing down from his arm to the ground.

"Shun, I think you should get your wound checked, you are bleeding. You can have a rematch after" yelled Eric with a worried face.

Shun was quiet as he was maintaining his breathing.

"You ruined my haori and now I am annoyed" said Shun. Shun tightened his grip on the katana and the air become tensed.

Yuki smiled disappeared as she also felt the surrounding getting tense. She took an offensive stance, as Shun did the same.

"Please! you are injured, get some meditation before you fight" yelled Eric

Shun ignored Eric again and dashed towards Yuki. In response that Yuki dashed as well. As both of them collided, a thunderous sound engulfed the room. Shun kicked Yuki on the gut, pushing her away. Shun leaped into the air and swung his katana to unleash the Eighth form of Wind Breathing creating torrents of wind at Yuki that was capable of slicing anything on its path. Yuki tried to cut through the wind torrent but it was too strong as her blade couldn't reach close to it so she decided to dash away from it. As Yuki was busy dodging the wind torrent, Shun used Thunder Clap and Flash to close to gap. This caught Yuki off guard. Then Shun used the Fifth Form of Flame Breathing, unleashing a series of slashes at Yuki which took the form of a flaming tiger that enveloped Shun. Shun was able to slash Yuki several times but he only left shallow wounds on her body.

Every one who was there to observe this fight was watching it with awe as Shun and Yuki was displaying a skill that they could not acquire. Yuki walked back as she was bleeding very slowly.

"It seems like I underestimated you. Well then, come I show you the power of The Flame Mane" exclaimed Yuki

Yuki used the First Form of Wind Breathing as she dashed toward Shun, slashing continuously in a horizontal cyclone pattern. While Yuki was dashing at Shun, Shun used Thunderclap and Flash to dash at Yuki. Shun's katana and Yuki's heated blades collided but Shun didn't have enough momentum as Yuki's blades over powered Shun's blade. Shun was thrown at a wall.

Shun used the wall as his footing and dashed at Yuki. Seeing this Yuki used her blades to block the incoming attack. Shun quickly sheathed his katana mid air. He came closer to Yuki, he used quickdraw at Yuki's blades. Shun slashed through Yuki's blade to reveal a surprised Yuki, Shun changed the motion of his body while being airborne to kick Yuki in the face, which sent her toward a wall, dropping the broken swords onto the ground. Shun gracefully landed onto the floor. The crowd was awfully silent as Shun emerged victorious.

Yuki's face has turned bitter due to the defeat. Shun has lost a lot of blood during this battle and his vision was getting a little blurry.

"How!!? How?!! How did you defeat me? How? How did I lose to a guy like this? " yelled Yuki like a baby.

"This would have taught you a lesson. You broke one of the core rules of the demon slayer corp to show that you are special and to feed your ego" said Shun

"Even though we are born special, its doesn't mean that other slayers are inferior to you or me. The demon slayers who practice one breathing style each day are also respectable and honestly even we might have somethings to learn from Slayers and the Hashira. Even though we have been bestowed the title of 'Elite Hashira', its is not something that you should abuse to take unfair advantages." said Shun.

Yuki was silent and was lying on the floor as she bleed from her right cheek. Yuki's blades that was dropped on the floor was arcing to each other. Eric saw this and he was alarmed.

"The broken blades are short circuiting to each other, this is going to overload the power source in the blades and its is going to explode" shouted Eric

Shun was starled, "How do I stop this?" asked Shun

"You need to sever the power source that is located at the handle" yelled Eric

Shun nodded and went closer towards the arcing blades to sever it. Suddenly the broken blade exploded. Shun was seeing the explosion in slow motion.

"There are metal pieces in the explosion that could hit the surrounding slayers.'' though Shun.

Shun used katana to cut through the metal pieces to significantly reduce their speed and momentum. Shun only could slash several of the metal pieces as some of them penetrating his arms. The heat released from the explosion was burning Shun's arm as he was slashing away the metal pieces. Enduring the pain, he pressed forth to save his comrades from harm. He looked at his arms while slashing, he saw his left arm is severely damaged and his uniform was burning. After slicing away most of the pieces, he was going to withdraw to safety, he saw Yuki lamenting about her defeat, unaware of the explosion. Shun rushed towards her, he forcefully grab her and started to carry her to safety. His speed was hindered due to the further blood lost, the explosion was catching up to him. He threw Yuki to the safety, toward the crowd with all of his might. The flames of the explosion was engulfing him. The flames was engulfed half of his body before Shun managed to jump to safety. With a explosion, Shun fell onto the ground. Shun heard the panic sounds of the slayer as they were trying to carry Shun to the medical department. This was the last thing Shun heard as all faded into darkness.
