Shea and the others shook their heads, clearly exasperated by Jane's eagerness. Zoe and Vivian even facepalmed, their hands covering their faces in disbelief.

Larissa muttered under her breath, "Here we go again."

James looked slightly uncomfortable, but he tried to answer as best as he could. "Uh… I'm not sure that can be called a secret admirer. I mean, Jacob didn't say it clearly, but it was obvious from his actions. Every time we hunted, he always prioritized killing the monsters around Sophia over the others."

Noah, clearly annoyed, nudged James sharply in the ribs and gave him the same stare he had received earlier. James responded with a helpless shrug, as if to say, "What do you want me to do?"
