Leaving The Kestrel Sewers

Arthur decided to finish adding his free stat points before leaving the sewer. It was always better to do that as a rule of thumb, at least when one was low leveled. After all, no one knew when one could get in trouble.

"Let's see…" Arthur pulled up the stat screen.

Arthur first used five stat points to equally increase his physical stats. This was the normal increase that he needed to have for the time being. But for the remaining 5 stat points, he didn't add them to his physical stats.

Instead, he split them between his wisdom, intelligence and will. In here, he opted to add three points to the Will stat, directly raising it to 4.

'I'll need to raise it even more later. At least to 10 if I am to successfully finish 'that' quest.' Arthur knew that while the Will stat wasn't as useful for him right now, he couldn't tarry in raising it.

It was going to be essential in obtaining the hidden class he was striving for after all.

The Will stat was a Non-Physical stat that influenced the magical as well as mental defenses of the player. But this was merely the basic effect of the stat, as there were many hidden functions of it too.

On the other hand, the Wisdom stat was something that influenced the magical power of spells while the intelligence stat determined how much MP or mana points one could have. It was one of the most important stats for a magic class user.

"The stamina drain is also quite high in butchering a boss, though the butcher skill should reduce that now." Arthur said to upon noticing his stamina bar.

It had fallen to the 50% mark, and this was despite the fact that he hadn't fought. After being replenished due to level up, his Stamina had been depleted due to him butchering the boss.

If one didn't have the appropriate skill and they tried to replicate it, they would end up using high amounts of stamina. This would continue until they either rank out of stamina and were forced to stop, or until they obtained a relevant skill.

Of course, this didn't work all the time and was highly variable. Only a few skills could be obtained this way, with some only being obtainable through finishing quests or obtaining different items and more.

Done with this, Arthur took his leave. He jumped back into the tunnel and made his way back to the place where he had come from. Along the way he encountered a few more Dire Sewer Rats but easily took care of them.

'A few more rat tails wouldn't hurt.' Arthur thought as he stored away their tails.

He was also getting some experience points from the rats, but it was a small amount due to leveling up twice. Being at level 6, Arthur barely got 1% experiencing from a basic Dire Sewer Rat and 2% from a Large Dire Sewer rat.

The farther the difference between levels got, the less experience points one would get. And after a large enough difference, one would simply stop getting experience from low leveled mobs.

This prevented the high leveled players from hogging hunting fields and preventing other low leveled players from hunting. After all, with their high levels, they could kill multiple weak mobs with one hit, thus they could overcome the low experience gain with number.

It was a classic case of going for quantity instead of quality.

Though Arthur wouldn't say that it was totally bad either. There were certain times when doing this was better than going to hunt strong mobs.

Half way through the sewers Arthur's torch had also burned out. But thankfully the remaining path was mostly straight and he could use the Monster core he had obtained to illuminate the path.

Even if the light from it was weak, it was still enough to find his way back. It took Arthur about forty minutes before he was able to leave the Kestrel Sewers.

"Haa… the fresh air certainly feels good." Arthur took a deep breath.

Being sewers, it was normal for them to be quite smelly. For new players it would have been an arduous task to even stay in them, not to mention explore them. But Arthur was used to things like this.

Though his part time jobs in the real world might have contributed to it too. It wasn't unusual for him to do cleaning jobs in the past and thus such foul smells were something he could still handle.

"I need to head to the village head now…" Arthur still needed to finish the quest officially.

He left the alley he was in and made his way to the office of the Village head. It was a building that was located some distance from the central fountain.

"Ugh! What the hell is that smell?"

"It smells like shit here! How the hell?"

The other players couldn't help but say in disgust as Arthur passed by them. Being new, they hadn't yet realized that the smell was coming from a player and not the area around them.

They continued to look around, but Arthur had gone past them in this time.

"Halt!" At the entrance of the village head's office though he was stopped.

A guard looked at the shabby appearance of Arthur, eyeing the suspicious looking blood on his clothes.

"I need to meet the village head and report something of grave importance to him." Arthur spoke.

The guards looked at him for a few seconds before nodding his head.

"Alright, you can go in but no sneaky acts!" He warned before letting him continue onwards.

"I assure you I wont." Arthur nodded his head and walked into the building.
