Chapter 297 HE'S BACK 2

We all sat at the table having an awkward dinner together with the Diors, no one has said a thing to another, not even grandma or mother who usually start the conversations or quarrels. The entire dining room was as silent as a graveyard and the only sound in the room was the clicking sounds coming from the cutlery.

For the first time since I've known them, they both decided to act classy, "What a wonderful meal, top-notch." Falcon acknowledged but got no response from anyone, it felt like they were yet to recover from the shock earlier. For some weird reason, he's had his eyes on me since he got here like he didn't have amnesia like he knows who I am. I've awaited his confrontation but still got nothing from him.

"Avery said you all know me from before and the memory you have of me is not good, I'm so sorry for that. But this time I'm serious with her, I want her to be my wife." He declared. "You only want that because you have amnesia." Mother stated wiping her mouth with her napkin.

"Maria, let them be, he loves Avery and she loves him too, we all are not blind to see that. We should be happy for them and not create unnecessary drama." Grandma held mother's hands using her thumb to rub its surface. "She's right honey, if this is the man Avery wants to get married to then she should. I give you my blessings Falcon, welcome to the family." Father declared. Alex is not going to like this.

They were just all so desperate to get Avery married cause of the rumors going around not minding her happiness or the man she's getting married to. I was uncomfortable with Falcon being a member of this family considering my past relationship with him, but who cares about that?

"If that is so, then welcome to the family Falcon." Mother said. "Thank you." He smiled picking up Avery's hands in his and pressing his lips on them. We all could see her blushing profusely, which was cute. It's the first time I've seen the feminine side of her.

"Thank you mum, thanks dad, thanks for accepting us, Grandma. We've decided to get married in a week, nothing grand just a simple wedding." Avery stated so happily.

"Nonsense, how can the first princess of the Wilson's family have a simple wedding? The entire NYC has to know my baby is getting married, and in a grand style." Maria started for everyone to smile. "Mother." She kissed Falcon. Seeing them express their love before everyone, was the sweetest thing ever. Even the devil would be happy with them as I was happy he found love.

I never liked for us to stop being friends cause of his feelings for me back then, it's been years and he's changed a lot. I wondered how he'd react if he saw the kids he cared so much for and always talked to. I'm certain Leah would divorce her father for Falcon that's how flirty she can be. I smiled at my thought.

"Ah, then she must be Hazel." On hearing my name I was back to reality to have everyone staring at me weirdly. "Yes, she's Hazel my brother Alex's wife," Avery said for him to nod lightly with a smile. We continued dinner and the ones who were done left the table to the lounge.

They may be done with dinner but that doesn't mean the introduction has ended we had a lot to talk about as a family. I was still confused if Falcon being a member of this family was a blessing or a problem.

After dinner mother went ahead to talk to Mrs. Dior, while Dad talked with Mr. Dior. They were going to be inlaws soon and needed to bond so, I could understand what their conversation was for. Carie had to sleep early cause of her condition, Avery went ahead to show Falcon her room and everything about herself.

I sat in the lounge with my phone probably waiting for Alex, since I had no one to talk to.

"Hazel, can you get me a glass of water." Mrs. Dior asked. "We have maids in the mansion, anyone can get you water." Mother stated gesturing her hands for a maid to carry out the task. "No Maria, it's totally not wrong for an adult to send a younger person on an errand no matter their status." She said with a smile.

"Not when you have workers around my dear, I hope you don't pull such a prank on my child." Mother said. "Of course not, Avery's barely at home."

"I'm not saying it is a bad thing for Hazel to serve you, but it's weird when you send a member of the family the works meant for maids and workers, I hope you understand?" Mother asked sweetly. "Of course I do."

I got back to the kids' room to check up on them before heading back to Alex's room. I got into the bathroom to bathe and change into one of his comfortable shirts before laying on the bed.

While asleep, I heard some strange noise in the room and jumped up from the bed to know who or what it was, turning on the lights I was frightened by the sight before me that had me almost shouting. I covered my mouth with my hands, preventing myself from screaming "Alex, what happened to you?" I ran to Alex who was sitting in front of the door or covered in blood.

"I need a knife and alcohol, hurry please." That was all he said.

Nodding at his words, I quickly found my way out of the room, through the dark hallway, and into the kitchen. I had no idea what was wrong with Alex, at the same time I was shivering from the dreadful sight I saw. It looked like a gunshot, someone had shot him, who would want him dead here in NYC, this place is meant to be his safe domain.

I rushed back into the room after picking up multiple knives and a glass of whisky. "Here it is Alex, what happened to you? Are you dying? Please don't die." I tried to clean the tears pouring down my eyes. "Calm down baby, I'm not dying. You have to put yourself together and get the bullet out of my hands quickly." He said.

"What are you talking about, I... I'm no doctor to do that. Call Greg or I can take you to the hospital." I suggested, but he refused any. Alex really wanted me to get the bullets out, how am I supposed to do this? I've never done this in my life.

"If you don't do this Hazel, I might lose my life." "No!" I grabbed the knife to create more opening and brought the bullet out not minding the blood pouring out of his hands. He groaned shutting his eyes. The blood had stained my hands and body along with his too. Alex drank the whisky and poured the rest into his hands gritting his teeth as he groaned loudly, he used his shirt to tie his hands.

This is his life and he is gradually dragging me into it, I couldn't believe I took a bullet out of someone's arms. "Thank you." He got up and walked into the bathroom without the crutches, what did I just see? The doctor said he couldn't walk for a month, it's not even been a month and he's already walking perfectly.

I had a flashback of him in the closet with Chan, he had no support back then and was still wearing his clothes normally. Have I been lied to again?
