Ava was standing in front of me and I could see it. In her stance. Much like when she had been tested Ava worked to make herself smaller. Less of a threat. It was how Human Females survived. Their power was in hiding. At least if I was understanding correctly.

Here and now Ava was standing tall. Her back straight and her gaze clear.

"So basically you went with seating you thought more practical?" Mina asked.

Ava nodded. "Other seating would just take up room. And besides the house is supposed to be what me and Aleksi like. I don't need chairs and fancy cushions to be comfortable."

"Honestly Ava," her brother groaned. "You have a male willing to give you everything you desire and instead you ask for the bare necessities."

"And a fancy bathroom!" Ava said with a wide smile. Aiden shook his head with a sigh. "Now stop trying to stir the pot! Aleksi and I are just starting to find our footing."
