"Alpha Cane, congratulation about the baby!" alpha Colter congratulated Cane, he patted his shoulder and gave a fatherly speech to him about fatherhood. Koda also did the same thing. 

There was this subtle tension Cane could feel from Koda to alpha Colter. He was not sure how Koda would scheme against alpha Colter for his desired to intervene with his plan as the regent, but it didn't take genius to say Koda wouldn't let it slide, the information he got from Cane about what alpha Colter and Laluna were trying to do behind his back. 

"Congratulation, alpha Cane! I hope this baby will have the royal golden eyes!" Koda congratulated Cane. The enthusiasm that he showed in his voice, didn't reach his eyes at all. One more royal family, it meant, one more people to be a threat for the throne. 

"Ah!" alpha Colter shook his head. "That's right. What happened with the false claim must be very upsetting. But, I wonder why didn't you kill that woman and the baby?"
