#Chapter94
Tapping out a rhythm on two bones the old man starts to chant in a sing-song voice. In a language that Amos has only heard once before, has been described as the language of the dead. The air within the hut grows thick, smoke fills the area as green leaves are placed on an open fire, which burns next to the simmering pot.
A circle of human bones is made around the open fire, and Amos finds himself at the center of another circle of bones, the chanting from the old man fills his head, as he speaks to the dead asking for guidance on the dark side.
The goat is brought forward and with a quick flash of the wrist, the old man severs the head from the body, the blood gushing from the headless animal. Amos is made to kneel within the circle of bones, while the cripple moves around him. Chanting, and covering his naked body in the blood from the slaughtered goat.
