Dust settles slowly back down onto the dirt road as the Land Rover pulls to a stop, and the Chief Ranger makes his way down to the water’s edge where Piet and company are settled in easy chairs taking in the view.

/"Hey Gerald, good to see you, grab a seat and a beer./"

/"Hi Piet, sorry man, this is not a social visit, we have a problem and I urgently need your help with it./"

/"Ag man, you know you can come to me, what’s up?/"

/"Well I can see that you are between clients right now, so I’ll cut to the chase and come right out with it./"

/"Shoot my man, I’m all ears./"

/"Remember that man-eater problem I spoke of a couple of weeks back, and my guys bagged those three cats, thinking that would be the end of it./"
