What is fought for 4

Former Saviors Base.

People continued to exit the four-story building with weapons in their hands. The weapons held by these individuals were of all kinds, seemingly collected from everywhere.

These people, who usually joke and laugh during the week, had extremely serious faces, and the situation outside made them feel very uncomfortable.

Soon, these people gathered, over four hundred individuals spread along the walls and rooftops, and important defense points were set up wherever people could stand.

Minutes later, a convoy in the distance approached slowly, and some people exited the building again.

This was the group that went to retrieve information, and their leader seemed to have seen the devil himself.

"Aren't we going to give them weapons?" One of the Saviors asked upon seeing hundreds of people in the surrounding buildings who appeared to be hiding.

"Do you think it's safe to do so?"

"No..."

...

In a room where Simon was located, he saw a man enter and asked directly, "How many people are there?"

"Boss, we saw at least a dozen Humvees with machine guns, armored vehicles, tanks, and many more things heading south..."

Simon fell silent. If this group was heading south, there were more people, and who else would be attacking the bases around this city in such a manner? He had established an empire and had this city secured, but now he was losing everything at the hands of unknown individuals with weaponry comparable to an army.

As he observed the convoy in the distance, he secretly calculated his own percentage of victory, and suddenly he thought of something and asked,

"Any news about Caine?"

"No, sir."

"Damn it, son of a bitch!"

Simon anxiously drew his weapon from his waist, and the people around him immediately froze and nervously looked at each other, as if afraid the man would kill them.

Holding the weapon and shaking it, Simon seemed to have remembered something and turned his head to look behind him.

"How many of those weapons do we have, Samuel?"

Samuel, the vicious predator, was momentarily surprised but understood what the other party meant and responded without much thought, "There's still some left. Are we going to use them?"

Simon clenched his teeth tightly, and the voice came out between his teeth, making his tone sound extremely mad. "Do you think we can fight without those damn weapons, you idiot?"

"Alright, I'll go get them now..."

Samuel called a dozen people and drove a car to the back of the base. At this moment, an armored convoy approached from a distance towards the city controlled by the Savior base.

The armored vehicles quickly formed a defensive formation, and an armored bus slowly made its way to the center of the convoy. After a few seconds, Airon's voice came from within, "Long time no see, Captain Simon."

Simon's expression behind the fence changed. He opened his eyes and looked at the bus, but his view was obstructed by the numerous cars in front, and he couldn't clearly see what was happening on the other side.

The RV they pursued months ago in the early morning, those subordinates who were torn apart by machine guns, and the leader he had killed—many memories surged in Simon's mind, immediately associating them with the modified RV in front.

"You are those people from Washington!"

"Haha, you're not stupid. You saved yourselves at the beginning, and I congratulate you for that, but you shouldn't have come to Florida in the first place. If you're still looking for us, then expect your own death as well."

Airon's voice through the loudspeaker was cold. In his opinion, there was no need for these killer types to continue living. It has now been confirmed that, except for those who left and the bases around this central base, the remaining ones are gathered here, all former members of the Salvadores. The rest, who are not exactly ex-Salvadores, are in other bases that are currently under attack.

"Alright, the pleasantries are over now. There are plenty of people on my side who want to settle the score with you."

As soon as everyone heard those words, the modified RV slowly reversed, and three advanced tanks started taking positions at the front.

"Damn it! They're going to shoot, take cover!" The shout of a Savior soldier was heard, and the rest of the people wanted to jump off the wall as if their lives depended on it.

This thin layer of wall cannot stop tank projectiles. Seeing this, the people in the courtyard also showed expressions of fear on their faces and quickly ran towards the rear of the base.

However, with a few shots, the leaders fell directly to the ground, and blood gushed from several bullet holes in their backs.

The rest of the people remained motionless in their places.

"Bastards, you were in paradise, so die defending this place. Don't let them join this place to run. Everyone, take your positions, and don't force me to kill you."

Simon shouted again to the convoy outside the wall. "Are you going to kill them? We have other survivors here, thousands of them. Do you want to kill them too? These people are innocent. If you kill them, what's the difference between you and us?"

Simon nervously looked at the tanks in front of him, trying his best to control his expression, but the sweat on his forehead still revealed his nervousness.

"Do you want to turn these innocent survivors into scum? Why can't we sit down and talk about how we are no longer the people who hunted and killed you back then? I killed the original leader. He was crazy and led us to certain death. I couldn't allow that, so I made a decision at that time."

Simon's voice was strong, fearing that the other party might not understand his words. Squinting slightly, Simon anxiously looked at the tanks in the distance. The three long barrels left a strong impression.

Just when he couldn't help but want to jump off the wall to escape, there was suddenly a noise from the intercom, and then the voice of the man in the bus came from inside.

"Zz... Do you think you can threaten me with innocent lives? Believe me, I would let you live if I didn't have eager people by my side wanting to flay you alive..."

Simon secretly rejoiced that the idiot leader wanted to talk to him. What he lacked now was time. Samuel should be back soon, and then he would have a chance to fight these people.

So Simon kept talking. He had no intention of giving the other party a chance to make a decision. As long as the other party was willing to listen, there was a high probability that they wouldn't shoot.

"You know me, but I don't know you. May I ask for your name?"

"Zz... It's not necessary for you to know me, but you can call me Commander."

"Zz..."

"Hello, hello, damn it!"

Simon observed with a serious face as the mouths of the two tanks moved again, and quickly aimed at the wall where they were. With a loud roar, he was the first to turn around and jump, and the rest of the people on the wall also jumped to the ground as if fleeing for their lives.

"Samuel!!!" Simon shouted into the radio in his hand as soon as he jumped off the fence. As he reached the door of a building, he shouted Samuel's name at the top of his lungs, as if venting, and then, without waiting for a response from the other party, he flicked his wrist and the radio went flying. Right now, he knew that Samuel might have escaped.

The cry of the man who introduced himself as the commander came again from outside the fence.

"Listen, everyone! Our target is only the members of the Salvadores. The rest of the unrelated personnel should drop their weapons and surrender automatically, or they will be considered enemies."

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Boom!

There were three loud explosions, and the simple wall of a building tore apart like paper. Two people with slower running speed were hit by shrapnel and fell directly to the ground.

Simon ran forward with a blackened face, feeling a strong push from behind. His body lost balance and fell forward, his face made intimate contact with the ground, and when he got up again, one side of his face was already shattered.

Blood soon stained his vision.

His gaze, which was towards the sky, saw several flying objects. Feeling the burning pain on his face, his eyes were about to burst into flames, but he still staggered forward. He looked back in a hurry but saw a scene that made his eyes widen. Three tanks crushed all the armored vehicles like cans.

As the walls began to fall, the walkers outside started to come in. Now that the wall was destroyed, there was a problem for many people—were they attacking the invaders or the walkers?

This kind of community has no loyalty or organization; they are a loose group of sand that gets into a bowl. Once the bowl is broken, they become loose sand again, without the heart to defend their territory.

Only a few people continued to shoot at the armored vehicles without giving up, and they were all met with a dense rain of bullets. After seeing some people being taken care of one after another, the rest threw their weapons. Most of those who saw their situation threw away their weapons and raised knives to eliminate the walkers.

The vast majority of these people had been oppressed by those men called Salvadores, so since Airon arrived, they had made a decision.

"Attention, everyone! Prioritize the clearing of the walkers, and the first group, pursue the enemy with the help of the helicopters."
