A Spark of Hatred

"What's the status of the other bases now, is there any way to find out?"

In a room somewhere in a building.

Shane, Sam and Airon gathered around an exaggeratedly large table, steadily scanning the map spread out on it.

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Hearing this question, Shane, who had been confronting one of the strongest bases on the front line, smiled wryly and said helplessly, "The beliefs and composition of the community I attack are completely different from those of other survivors, and the likelihood of going in quietly is extremely low."

"Several scouts were sent out and we have obtained information from the cult's main base, but half of those who were sent out did not return to the base. Basically, they have a good defense and it's not a good sign to go in quietly."

Hearing the news, Airon frowned slightly and said, "That means that now we can only go directly, try to talk and make them surrender, but not before waiting for news from the other bases that are still linked to the cult."

"For now, that's true."

Sam looked at the map next and said, "For now two-thirds of our people are focused on attacking the two remaining non-cult safe havens. According to our plan, this base would be the ideal one to attract the attention of the cult's force."

As he spoke, he pointed to the map, clicked on a place marked in red and said, "This is the location of our total control, in the red zone are the walkers that are right now being moved by our people."

Then Sam slid his fingers to the lower right and lower left of the city and continued, "In addition to the people who are moving the walkers, here are the helicopters with the White Candy ready to go into action..."

"Our main combat force is silently surrounding the cult, a few kilometers away are the armored vehicles waiting for news from the search team that is right now locating the submarine."

Hearing this, Airon showed a sudden expression of understanding and said, "Once I get going, a lot will happen, I need extreme control of the bases linked to the cult, control of the sub and open communication."

"The cost for direct confrontation the cult has to pay is too high and I'm sure they will consider taking on our group."

Shane looked at Airon, as if he was quite in agreement with his words at this point, and said, "In the past, we were too passive not to kill so many people and even then we had a chance to win easily. If we hesitate now, we will suffer a total loss and we have to keep in mind that those we are attacking are not humans, we have to go with the awareness that those people are complete madmen."

"Right now it is also not easy for people in the cult to go out in full force, we also have not considered that we attack bases that are from the cult."

Regarding this plan, Airon was noncommittal and said, "Are you sure you can find the second key to the sub if we destroy everything with the Apache helicopters? We need their resources, they would at least make up for the loss of taking them out."

Hearing this, Shane looked at Airon and asked, "I have a question, do we really need the second key to the sub? Those are nuclear weapons inside it, just having those weapons in our possession is kind of scary."

"We have to have a weapon powerful enough to defend ourselves against any kind of threat...."

At this point, Airon was a bit pensive. To be honest, he was completely unaware of any other kind of factor other than getting the key to that submarine and if possible taking it to Atlanta. With that kind of weaponry, if the CRM is made up of part of the military and they have the same level of weaponry, having equal terms when they clash would be beneficial to him.

Seeing Shane and Sam's silent stares, Airon's face became serious, although he participated in many engagements, when it comes to facing this enemy he has many thoughts.

So far, he only did his best to deploy the defense as much as possible, he attacked two important outposts that served the cult and thought very well for the cleanest possible victory.

Thinking about the conflicts he would have with the survivors later on and the death of many of his followers, Airon knew that someday he had to be like the CRM, and wipe out the enemy base without playing these little games.

"We need to have that power in our hands, they should not fall into enemy hands and have them as security in case another community may have the same." Sam said as he answered Shane's question.

"No, it shouldn't be that easy.... I just hope not too many people die."

"We'll win, just like we always have.... For Billy and all those who died at the hands of those bastards."

Seeing that the two were no longer speaking, Airon looked up at the slowly brightening sky and unexpectedly forgot the time as he spoke.

Airon smiled and said, "Okay, we just have to wait for our group to respond to get moving."

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Enemy attack!"

But at this moment, there was a sudden sound from outside the room, and then someone started shouting for an enemy attack.

This movement made the three people in the room immediately stand up, looking at each other and seeing the solemnity in each other's eyes. They did not expect that the enemy base they were closest to would come at this moment to attack them.

They knew that being here so openly would cause the external base they were close to to launch an attack, this was also premeditated to really know what they were capable of.

...

Half an hour ago.

Among the buildings near the larger base below the main cult base.

The dense black shadows continued to advance through the still dark streets, they continued forward taking advantage of every second of darkness that remained, perfectly concealed their figures and slowly stopped in the illuminated area not far from their position.

At this moment, the light gradually coming out in the sky revealed their figures, and this helped their bodies reflect.

Wearing simple and rough clothing, holding extremely sharp spears, machetes, bows and arrows and all kinds of weapons in their hands, with various colorful things painted on their faces, just like the ancient primitive people, they were apparently trying to attack the temporary camp ahead.

At the front of the crowd, stood a tall figure, who was quite different from the image of the people behind him. He wore light armor and carried a long knife sheathed at his waist. This image was like a medieval sword. Like a general fighting with soldiers.

If Airon saw the other party at this moment, he would definitely recognize him at a glance. The person in front of him was the leader of the community he was planning to take as his ally. But this man's name was Neil, from whom he once stole a few million dollars without both of them realizing who the thief and owner was.

Neil led his people and they all stood behind him, surrounding the place they would attack. This was the first time so many warriors from the community had gone out with so many people.

For now, Neil stood silently in place, staring at the illuminated building in the distance where he had previously been abandoned with deep eyes, and clenched his fists tightly at the thought that he would be attacked by these people.

"These fucking bastards really are the ones who massacred my friend's community. I must cut them all face down and make them suffer torment until their last fucking breath."

At that moment, an old man approached Neil and said, "Sir, these people seem to be coming from the military base and their weaponry is something we should consider before attacking them. If they have sharpshooters in the outlying buildings, it will be impossible to kill them in this place."

"Without the supplies provided by the cult, facing us in this disadvantageous situation is not good at all. This last week, the walkers have blocked our main trade route, so we must consider it."

Speaking of this, the old man was a little hesitant, not knowing whether he should continue speaking, but after reflecting for a moment, he continued, "If we go back now, rest, and return to continue watching them, we can be more certain of the decision we will make."

"Go back?"

Hearing these two words, Neil's eyes flickered with sadness and he said, "If we go back now, this betrayal will be enough for the cult to burn us alive. The cult wants these enemies who destroyed three major groups to die and they will definitely find out if we turn back now."

As he spoke, an expression of resignation but determination shone on his face, and he said, "There is only one way in front of me now, and that is to put all these bastards on a pike, wipe out all their people and take their resources."

Then Neil raised his arm, ignoring the old man beside him who hesitated to speak, and said in a loud voice, "Prepare for the first stage of the attack, believers, Christ our Lord will open the door of the kingdom of heaven to receive you, do not fear death, attack!"

"Ahhh!"

Following Neil's order, a group of older adults and a group of younger than normal child soldiers began to advance towards the building, holding weapons of all kinds in their hands and charging forward.

Seeing this situation, the old man lowered his eyes and muttered, "I hope these people can really go to heaven."

Hearing this, Neil turned his head and looked at the old man, pursed his lips and said quietly, "Don't be sentimental. The sacrifice of these less powerful people is necessary. I need to know the distribution of enemy firepower, and we have too many people. Only by reducing a group of people can we feed stronger people in our base, we have to generate hatred among our group."
