Escape

That first thing in the morning, Airon slowly opened his eyes and felt that his body was practically shattered. As if yesterday's pain was not enough, today it was twice as bad and it was even painful to move.

At that moment, the sound of a gunshot was heard outside the building where Airon was standing next to Alicia, causing him to unconsciously grab his gun and walk outside to see what it was all about.

The movements that Airon caused woke Alicia up, so she also took her gun and walked slowly towards a secluded window. Outside, there was a group of people being devoured by the red-eyed walkers and some were even shooting.

Airon had to stare at this scene to see that it was not Morgan, who so far had not appeared.

Alicia stared at the purgatory scene, ignored anything else further, picked up the rifle in her hand, turned and ran for the door, obviously wanting to run to help.

"Don't open the door, we will die!"

Airon noticed Alicia's intentions with anticipation and reacted before the other party was about to open the door. From recent talks, Airon could more or less know Alicia's character. Seeing her expression at this moment, there was no need to guess what she was thinking.

For such a warm person, she still had a good impression. Naturally, Airon didn't want to let her be in danger, so he quickly made her look at reality and said, "Calm down! Don't be impulsive, all the red-eyed walkers and those people ran away. If we open the door now, we'll risk it in vain."

But Alicia believed that if they acted now they could save those peoples, as she could hear the screams of the people outside, and respectfully said to Airon, "They don't look like bad people, we can save them!"

After she finished speaking, it could be seen that Airon had no intention of giving in at all, and even planned to move fast and take advantage of Airon not being able to react so fast due to his injuries to save the people outside.

"Alicia, we need to stay calm and think things through clearly. You know, if it was before the accident I would also think about saving those people, but now better than ever I know that we can't save everyone and that's what you should know."

Seeing this, Alicia sighed bitterly and turned her gaze to the outside, although she knew that they could be in danger when their situation is not so good, she thought only of helping other people and ignored at first the safety of everyone.

"Come on, we have to look at the situation outside to see what will be the right time to go to your shelter." Airon looked outside once more and walked towards the bathroom where they had their things. He didn't blame Alicia, he has also acted the same way before.

After looking outside, Alicia gradually listened as the screams died down and said calmly, "Although I don't know where so many walkers came from at once, it looks like they will move fast from this place. The vultures are real idiots, didn't they see the walkers in the vicinity? I don't understand why they shot your people like that."

At this moment, Airon stopped and turned his body, his thoughts took him once again to the scene of the shooting and he looked at Alicia, "Maybe they want the stuff we are carrying, even though we don't have much right now, they were looking for a chance to get some good resources."

One way or another Airon knew that his helicopter was going to crash at that moment, so it would attract walkers due to the explosion or the sound generated from the crash.

"Look!"

Just as Airon finished speaking, Alicia, who was still paying attention to the situation outside, pointed at the window and exclaimed in a surprised voice.

When Airon heard this, it aroused his curiosity and he walked towards the sale again only to look in the direction where Alicia pointed to look at a truck loading some sort of boxes as normal walkers were approaching, regardless of the number they were all crushed.

But as the truck plowed into the crowd of walkers, the speed suddenly stopped, but the driver of the truck stepped on the accelerator desperately, driving the truck barely to the right of the street.

It's just that countless infected people or walkers had already jumped into the truck at this moment, banging on the doors and windows frantically, trying to trap the humans inside.

"Boom!"

At the moment when the truck stopped, the car seemed to be half exploded by something, and there was a flash of white light, accompanied by a violent explosion, all the walkers around the truck were blown up, corpses and blood were flying into the air. The flames from the explosion shot up into the sky, and even left a huge crater on the ground. The people in the truck directly detonated the grenades and ammunition throughout the supply truck.

The wall of a building collapsed and a large gap opened up. The explosion just wiped out all the walkers near the truck, and the aftermath also knocked down all the walkers in the distance, greatly slowing their pace and giving the convoy enough time to escape.

.

The dozen or so trucks at the front of the convoy, that is, during this time period, suddenly turned a corner, pulled into the crosswalk, ran out from under siege by the walkers, and headed in the direction of the road as it came, even passing by some survivors who were involved in this scene with no intention of stopping at all.

Even without guessing, he knew that the explosion at this time was to cover the evacuation of these vehicles.

The sudden explosion made Airon and Alicia who were watching the scene surprised, but this only made Airon frown and said to Alicia, "We have to take this opportunity, we have to go get the things and leave in the opposite direction."

After walking to the bathroom, Airon put his weapons and knives in their holsters after reminding Alicia, "Those explosions will only upset the walkers in the vicinity, they will run in the direction of that convoy that is now evacuating so it will be a good opportunity to escape."

Alicia was silent for a moment, looked at the chaotic scene outside the window, lightly squeezed the hand holding the gun, her eyes suddenly dimmed and said in a low voice: "I see, let's evacuate here first."

Seeing this situation, Airon was filled with joy and secretly relieved. In fact, there were only two people in his group, it was very easy to become targets of robbers or even that same group that attacked his people was an example of his thoughts. But he didn't know why he had a vague feeling that that convoy belonged to the Vultures, but trusting that they got away from this place, they should move quickly from this unfavorable place.

"Then let's go!"

Seeing Alicia with a determined expression, Airon opened the door and easily eliminated the walkers in the vicinity, they ignored the cars and walked along the narrow walls of an alleyway quickly moving away from this place.

Looking at Alicia's reaction, who seemed to be very nervous, Airon, ignoring the pain in his body, checked

the road very carefully so as not to be surprised by walkers.

And Alicia remembered the situation from behind as they walked carefully, regaining her composure and focusing on what had to be done.

This made Airon feel safe and at the same time grateful to this woman, committing himself to get her out of this place and help his group in whatever way he could.

But now Airon is in no mood to worry about this kind of petty stuff. He looked out into the street and looked at the walkers running down the street and there were no signs of survivors hiding in the buildings so they both checked the map and discovered a special place where he could save them from facing many walkers along the way.

Looking at the train station, Alicia asked, "Why should we go through the darkest place?"

Airon said, "The walkers haven't reached our side yet, and with that big explosion it will complicate things for ten kilometers around where we are standing."

"Won't it be more dangerous to move along the subway tracks?"

"No" Airon shook his head and said calmly, "It shouldn't be any worse than being up here, we have night scopes so there won't be any problems."

"We can't go too far, and we might get attacked by those undead, and we can't leave at the moment if we're walking the streets. We could also walk the back way, as close to the road as possible, and then find a safe place to set up temporarily and wait but I don't think we have that time, you must meet with your family and I will communicate with my people."

When Alicia heard what Airon said, surprise shone in her eyes, she had never heard a person talk like that in front of her.

Her mental activity at this moment is the same as her father's at the beginning of the end of the world, surprised by the intelligence of Airon who was leaving her more and more surprised.

But this kind of surprise is only temporary. Although there are many types of survivors in the world, this was definitely not very new, just the person was unknown.

After they made a decision, they both walked towards the subway train station to get as soon as possible to Alicia's community who right now are waiting for answers from her and Airon is waiting for the right time to communicate with his people.
