At the Military Base (3)

In the morning, many of the soldiers had stayed awake watching for help to arrive. They had been anxious since yesterday so they were really hoping that someone would come to their rescue.

Next to the window of a building where the military were stationed, Jeremy was holding a pair of binoculars as he watched the situation outside. There was no doubt that the condition at the military base was terribly bad, if the helicopters coming to their aid saw this situation, they would most likely retreat.

Originally, everyone was very nervous about whether help would actually arrive, but everyone insisted on trusting and waiting without asking too many questions. It was no good getting their hopes up or creating speculation long before the appointed time.

They had lost contact with other military bases, so now this was all they had. The walkers overran them and it was impossible to sustain the infection, so after that the opening the walkers made ended up collapsing the base completely.

"Do you really think there's still a world left to go back to after leaving this place?"

Jeremy, who was pro resting, heard the question from the person who came to his side and turned his head to see who it was and resolved to be Eric Bana, who had been arguing with everyone yesterday. "First we have to find out if there really is anyone capable enough to get us out of this place."

"You think they won't?"

"You really think they won't?" Jeremy looked at Eric with some surprise. If he remembered correctly, this man they had next to him was one of the most inspiring, but now it turned out that his thoughts were a bit jumbled.

"With all those walkers it's tough, if we don't clear that place out before help gets here, it would be impossible for anyone to risk coming down." Eric didn't want to say much about what was coming.

"This is..."

Seeing Jeremy's helpless expression, Eric wanted to say something, but just as he was about to speak the voice coming from the radio came on and in the distance the sound of more than one helicopter could be heard clearly.

"Zz... This is S.C.T., we are approaching your base, you should do nothing but wait for a team to contact you."

"Help is coming!"

While the soldiers were excited, three helicopters were slowly descending on the military base where they were expected to get the most resources

...

"The opening has been located, first we will lure the walkers in the center of the main square so we will move them slowly and wait for the AA-1 and 2 squadrons to be deployed."

"Zz... Copy that, we proceed to descend on a building to maintain the security of the operation, in one minute we will be on the ground."

At this point, having given the orders, a Ch-47 Chinook helicopter diverted from the original trio to employ the survivor containment operation and sealed off the opening to the military base that had already been identified by Airon's group.

"Now!"

When the order was issued, the secluded helicopter was deployed around seven ropes and soldiers equipped with the Arm-3J combat suit descended from the sky and were positioning themselves on top of a warehouse while deploying and covering all the surroundings so that they would not be attacked.

In total, only thirty soldiers descended for this mission and after a few minutes, the helicopter formed up with the other two to attract all the walkers in the base. It can be said that the noise of the helicopter and the low altitude flight attracted the walkers from the surrounding area.

This method to draw away the horde of walkers that was on the base had been used frequently in Atlanta to draw away the hordes of walkers, it could have even been used in the prison but at that time no one wanted to take risks, other than the horde was inside a large forest.

"Alright, we have one minute to take control of the survivors so that the survivors don't cause any trouble!" The AA-1 squadron capital of the five that had been dispatched stood in front of the soldiers and briefed them in detail as the walkers were being driven away by the helicopters.

"Arturo, I need you to take five men and take charge of sealing the opening with the trucks you meet at this base, I don't want to know the damn magic you'll have to work to accomplish that!"

"Understood, sir."

The orders were clear, they needed to be with the trucks at the base opening as well as in turn they needed to be secured to the survivors and that the survivors would not cause trouble. After all, this is a military base and there was everything you could imagine, so Airon didn't want any surprises with this group of survivors.

After the walkers, the vast majority of the walkers were driven to the outside, the AA-1 squad and their captain Ian Dietrich placed some secure ties next to a support and quickly descended downward to undertake the mission.

As was evident, some dumber-than-average walkers would not follow the horde, so they had to be eliminated by Ian's squad. Raising the barrel of his Scar N, silenced shots were aimed at the heads of numerous walkers that were closing in on the group.

"Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!"

"Area clear, deepening towards targets." After everyone went down, they split into two groups. The first group was led by Arturo who would be in charge of sealing off the outside of the base and the other was led by the captain of AA-1 squadron.

"Be quick and precise, if the soldiers dare to disobey orders don't hesitate and kill them!"

Ian Dietrich didn't want to didn't want to make mistakes, his group after all was trained to kill first and ask questions later. Therefore, keeping their target in mind, they moved silently towards the building where the survivors had been identified.

"Don't waste time on the walkers, move on and don't waste time."

At Ian's shout, a squad of twenty heavily armed people in all-black gear with masks on their faces surrounded a building and that's when a soldier shouted, "Open the door now!"

The people inside seemed to doubt what was happening outside, so an unarmed man approached the door and opened it from the inside.

"Are you military?" The soldier didn't quite know who these heavily armed people were, so that question came unconsciously out of his mouth.

"Move to the wall and don't ask questions, now!" Two soldiers from squad AA-1 lowered their weapons and pushed the soldier to a wall, stripped him of his pistol and then pushed him inside where the soldiers and civilians should be.

One group stayed outside, while another went inside to sort out whatever problems there would be inside the building. Ian Dietrich walked in unconcerned about any damage and once he entered the warehouse he saw a large number of people including military personnel holding their rifles aloft.

"Pay your weapons on the ground, this is an order!" When Ian shouted this, the soldiers of the AA-1 squad moved sideways and pointed towards the soldiers who had raised their weapon.

"Wait... Wait please, we are military, what division do you belong to and why are you pointing a gun at us?" Ben Miller asked and seeing that there was no answer he pointed, "I'm Colonel Ben Miller..."

"I know who the hell you are, old man, my commander's orders are strict. None of you are right now authorized to have weapons in your hands, if you disobey the orders all your men will be eliminated."

When Ben Miller heard these words he felt a shiver run through his body, it was evident that these soldiers were not at all ordinary so he signaled his men to lower their weapons.

In a few seconds, all the soldiers pushed their weapons towards the soldiers of the AA-1 squad and it was then that Ian Dietrich advanced and took off his uniform helmet: "I present myself colonel, I am Captain Ian Dietrich of the S.C.T, we belong to an organization created by the army who maintains the security of thousands of people in Atlanta, right now you are safe, our people are keeping all the walkers away from this base to the outside."

When Ben Miller saw the initial tension subside, he smiled with relief and gave a military salute: "Nice to meet you Captain, I'm really looking forward to meeting your Commander."
