The Alert

West Georgia Prison

After hearing Shane's warning, Sam Valdez wasted no time and ordered everyone to mobilize for a possible large-scale confrontation in the prison with walkers.

Upon hearing of a large horde of walkers, he ordered to mobilize all people inside the prison, this place should not be breached by any walker.

At this time, tanks, heavy machine guns and a large amount of ammunition were transported to the towers around the prison, all the people were in a panic about a possible horde of walkers.

In open spaces, experienced soldiers set up mortars ready to initiate an attack as needed. Many knew how terrible a horde of walkers was, everyone feared what this could do to their new shelter.

"Is it really a good thing to mobilize them like this? Possibly the horde won't move in our direction." Said Mike next to Sam Valdez, he knew better than anyone the terror that is a horde of walkers.

"We can't make that decision, this place will not be destroyed while Airon is not here, it will serve as training for everyone in this prison." Sam Valdez said with a stoic look on his face.

In the distance, mortars and heavy machine guns were being placed at strategic points and everyone was silent, if a large horde of walkers reached the prison, they would be greeted by hundreds of thousands of bullets.

Sam Valdez looked at the radio on his chest and decided to try to communicate with Arion, who so far had given no sign since leaving the CDC.

"Zz... Sir, this is Sam Valdez, over!"

"Zz... Sir, can you hear me?"

Sam Valdez waited a moment and sighed, apparently his boss was in a tight spot. Under no circumstances would he think that Arion would be in danger, he was a gifted type of man with knowledge and skills for this world, that was something Sam had seen since he joined their group.

Just as he was about to put the radio away, the intercom on his radio emitted a voice very familiar to his ears, "Zz.... Airon here, I'm back on the line, is there anything important to report?"

"Zz... Sir, insignificant anomalies arose in the prison, but thanks to that we discovered that there is a horde of walkers not far from the prison. We are prepared to repel the threat if it approaches the prison, what are your new orders?"

"Zz... Stick to the protocol I create when they are in that situation, don't forget the details, remember I trust you."

"Understood sir!"

When Sam Valdez stopped communicating with Airon, he walked to a tower to look at the overall situation more clearly and begin issuing orders over the radio. He knew the horde could very well stray, but he didn't want to be in for any surprises.

...

At the Hershel farm, Shane's group were trying to persuade the family elder to leave this place as soon as possible.

"Shut up! What right do you have to meddle in my family's affairs and decisions?" Hershel was once again very irritated by Glenn's words, whose eyes were so wide and fixed on Glenn they couldn't help but express their anger.

Patricia and Beth were behind with complicated eyes, without the ability to speak in this situation.

Glenn was also irritated by Hershel's stupid behavior he was having at this moment, his calm face turned serious and he shouted, "Because Maggie and I are in love! I love your daughter, and I know your family well enough and I think the last people to get hurt are your daughters."

Hershel opened his mouth in shock at Glenn's words, but didn't say a word.

As the situation was getting out of hand, Lori stepped forward and said, "Hershel! I'm Lori Rick's wife, you should know that Rick is a good friend of Airon's, you should know Airon Darcy, right?"

Although Hershel didn't speak, he nodded silently after hearing Airon's name.

Seeing that Hershel was listening, Lori pointed out, "You may not know this, but Airon works with the researchers at the CDC long before it all started. The researchers there explained to us that people infected with this virus once it reaches the point of maximum expansion are controlled by the virus."

"Simply put, they are not alive. they have no memory of their life, the only thing left in their body is the instinct of appetite and that is why they bite people. Have you ever seen anyone who can survive or move with a rotting body?"

However, before Lori could finish speaking, Hershel interrupted her, "I don't care, my son and wife are all infected with that disease! I want to save them and I don't want to listen to your words, I won't leave with you!"

"Hershel!"

"Dad!"

Patricia and Beth were a little scared, and couldn't help but put their arms around the stubborn Hershel. They both knew that all those people were dead. They just didn't want to accept this fact, and Heshel's stubbornness was even greater.

Glenn's face kept changing, and when he saw that Hershel was about to turn around and enter the house, he finally couldn't help himself and shouted out loud, "Hershel! I heard there were a lot of walkers gathered in your barn - all you're accomplishing is killing your entire family and neighbors for your impossible wish! What will happen to Maggie if you die in this place?"

When the people on the side heard that there were walkers in the barn, their expressions instantly changed as Shane moved toward the barn without hesitation.

The rest of the people also looked at each other and then followed them one after another, while Hershel's expression changed drastically, he broke away from his daughter's hand and quickly ran towards the barn.

"Ahhh! Grrrrr!"

Hearing the unique roar emitted by the walkers coming from the barn, Shane's face turned livid!

He never expected this farm to have a barn with walkers where he had slept for a few days. However, just as he wanted to open the barn door and finish off the walkers inside, he looked in the distance and saw two figures.

Shane looked closer and it turned out to be Jimmy, and the other person next to Jimmy, no, that's not a person!

"What is that?"

With an unnatural expression, Shane ran over to Jimmy as if a demon had gotten into him and snatched the stick out of his hands. The other end of the stick had a rope on it, and at that moment the rope was wrapped around the walker's neck.

Pulling the stick, he angrily walked back to the side of the crowd, handed control of the walker to Richard, and Shane drew his gun.

"Are you kidding me, are you even looking at what you're holding on to, Hershel?" Shane raised his gun, looked at the walker and fired.

"Bang!"

The bullet accurately shot the walker's thigh and the sound made everyone back up a little. Shane looked at everyone and asked aloud, "Is this one of those sick people you want to save? Huh? They're not sick, they're not people, they're dead and that's something you don't want to see, old man!"

"Airon was right when he said these things shouldn't be underestimated, and I will never feel anything for these things that want to kill us. This thing here will end up killing us all if we don't do what we're doing in prison!"

"Hey Hershel, I want to ask you a question, a breathing person do you think could withstand this?"

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Three consecutive shots hit the walker's chest.

"Three shots to the chest, would anyone who might be alive withstand something like that?"

"Shane, that's enough buddy." Glenn said with a nervous look.

"If it's enough..." Shane walked up to the walker and shot him one last time in the head.

"Bang!"

Shane, who had taken care of the walker, walked over to Hershel with an angry expression on his face and pointed, "Enough of trying to convince you about this situation, didn't you say they were just sick? Do you think your son and wife will talk to you again when they get out of that barn?"

"Slap!"

Hershel, who had been silent all this time, suddenly raised his hand and grabbed Shane and roared in a choked voice, "You don't have the right to say that about my wife and son!"

Patricia behind Hershel was also looking at Shane at this point, and Beth was frightened by the whole situation that was unfolding at this point.

"Airon mentioned to me that we should consider you as a token of our gratitude in saving Guillermo, but I won't let us all die because you don't want to leave this place."

Suddenly, a hand grabbed Shane and pulled him back hard. Shane looked to the side and saw Daryl who had been silent, only to hear his voice hoarse and deep, "That's enough, he's just trying to take care of his reality, show some respect."

The people in the barn were oblivious to the fact that the woods were full of walkers and they were walking towards the farm.

It was getting darker and darker and people were getting more and more anxious, but Hershel remained unmoved. Shane shook his head in disappointment, waved to the people, turned around and walked to the car.

"Hershel! Think of Maggie! Think of your daughter! Do you really want everyone to die with you?" Glenn still did not stop persuading, trying to use family affection to influence Hershel, even if it is only to leave temporarily, this old man stubbornly stood there and did not respond.

Morgan didn't interfere in all this drama since he arrived at the farm. He is not a meddling person. If Hershel wants help he would help him, but in this situation he had nothing to do.

Seeing Shane walking to the car, Morgan also patted Richard's shoulders beside him, shaking his head gently to indicate that they should get out of this place.

Just as the three of them turned around, Morgan suddenly saw a few shaky figures emerging from the edge of the forest in the distance. The sun had already set, and Morgan could only see it in the little light that remained.

Sensing the people around him, Morgan pointed to the edge of the forest in the distance and asked, "Look, are those the horde walkers?"

Richard picked up the gun and looked through the telescopic sight into the distance. The few walkers wandering through the woods had moved toward the farmhouse and behind them were more walkers following.

"Hey!"

Richard paled and shouted behind him, "Let's go fast, the horde of walkers is coming!"

Everyone's face filled with anxiety when they heard these words, and Glenn approached Patricia and said, "We have to persuade Hershel, but if you guys don't leave this place either you'll die."

But Heschel, who had been standing there all this time, suddenly turned around, walked into the house and said to Beth, "Daughter, pack your things, let's get out of this place."

Glenn was on the verge of tears of joy, finally he didn't waste his words, now he had nothing to say to Maggie.

Now that they decided to leave, everyone quickly packed their things and loaded some needed supplies into the car. Hershel remained silent the whole time, just sitting in the back row of the car and staring at his house.

"The walkers are getting closer, let's hurry!"
