It was a long day of listening to people talk and socializing, followed by more listening and more socializing during lunch, and finally, afternoon tea. Dinner wasn’t until 10:00, and I was so tired that all I wanted to do was go to my room and go to sleep, but Helen and Patty insisted we stay back at the bar because a woman named Beatrice Templeton was going to be there.
Helen and Patty were major fans of Beatrice, and because of how our schedule had been set up, we had to miss her presentation at the conference today.
I followed them inside, glad to see that there weren’t too many people there. I was even happier that Ryan was nowhere to be seen. Throughout the day, he’d gone to the same presentations as we had, but he’d kept his distance for the most part. At one point, I noticed he was staring at me while we were having lunch, but he quickly looked away when I glared at him.
