S2: Chapter 10

"And that is how they fought so badly? So badly that an entire city was destroyed?" you ask.

"Yes. He ended up going face to face with Basil during the battle. I know because I was right beside him." He says.

"You were with him? As in fighting with him?" you ask.

"Yes.. I was the Vice Commander of the troops at that time. He killed Basil and the West City faced one humiliating defeat. Odell ordered our soldiers to kill everyone in the City. I was completely against massacring everyone. Sure, he hated Basil and he killed him. It should have ended there. But your father was in a state of deep hatred. As far as I know someone is still looking for the ones who managed to escape." he continues.

"I knew it. Mavis and C/N are in grave danger." you think. 

"Someone? Who?" you ask.

"I don't think it's Odell who is looking for them.. He isn't so inhumane. He may be a cruel when angry but he does have gentle soul. After coming to his senses, he regretted massacring the entire City and ordered the troops to stop looking for them. But I got to know, an official is still looking for them. Secretly, though."

"But why is that person still looking for them? I mean, they must be long gone now, right?.." you ask.

"I don't have any information on that." he says.

Wren's gaze shifts to the floor and you stare at him. 

"After all this.. I went away for long time. It was all too much for me. I was planning to come for your birthday but got caught in some business." he continues.

"No worries, Uncle.." 

"I don't know if you remember but when you were younger, you went on a hunt with me. You ended up getting hurt and Kaia didn't allow me to come near you." he ended with a deep, husky laugh.

"Oh, I don't think I remember that." you laugh nervously. 

"Alright kiddo, story time is over. You should head back. It's late." he says.

"Okay, uncle. Until next time." you say with a small smile and leave. 

"If he was really my uncle.. He would have been my favorite one." you think on your way back. 

The next day, you call Tsukiyomi and Y/B to discuss everything. 

"Woah.. That is some serious drama." Y/B says after you explain everything you learnt.

"Y/N? Did Nevil's father ask about.." Tsukiyomi stops.

"About the marriage? Yeah, he did. He said we'll discuss some other time. My god, this girl just turned 18. How the hell is she supposed to manage the whole city?" you laugh.

"For real, though. Did you know we all were chosen? As in Nevil, Ivail and Orson were all chosen to be alphas." Y/B states.

"By some priest?" you ask.

"Yeah! Exactly.." Y/B answers.

"Wren mentioned the priest while talking about Kaia." you say.

"Um. Who was Kaia again? I'm sorry I keep forgetting. Too many names to remember." Y/B asks.

"Nevil's mother, dumbass." Tsukiyomi smacks his head.

"Ow.. Not my fault, these people have the weird names!" Y/B shouts back.

"Right now, my main concern is that Mavis and Alaric as in C/N might get caught any second. And even worse, I don't even know who is looking for them. Nevil's father already stopped looking for those survivors but some dumb guy is still looking for them, secretly, which means Odell doesn't know about it."

"Odell is Nevil's father." Tsukiyomi looks at Y/B.

"Thanks man. You read my mind." Y/B says, laughing. You roll your eyes and say, "Just where the hell did we all stuck?" 

Just then a man calls out, "Master, it's time to head back."

"Okay then, meet you all later. Bye." Tsukiyomi says and leaves. "So, now what?" Y/B asks.

"Y/B.. I didn't tell you this. But while we were at the hunt, another thing happened. When I climbed back up from the hole, I heard a masculine voice speak from behind. He mentioned the arrow with which Nevil got shot. That there was some poison meant to kill her but it didn't." You pause.

"She got shot?" he asks.

"Yeah, when I came to this world, she had already gotten shot. I felt the pain in my arm later on." you answer.

"Hmm.. Mann, these royal people have rivalries like that. Just be care..." Y/B stops after noticing your scared expression.

"Y/N, what is it?" he asks.

"He.. He knew I am Y/N.." you say just five words. 

Five words which widen Y/B's eyes.

Y/B stands up with a sudden jerk and says, "Holy shit... This is even more complicated now.... How.. Wait.. That means he also came from our world.. Maybe.. maybe he knows that we all are here. He might know something." 

"It's scary to be in an unknown world and even scarier when there is someone who knows you but you don't know them." you say.

"True... Y/N, I'll be leaving for my City tomorrow. Forgot to tell you earlier." he says.

"Oh." 

"I don't want to go away." Y/B sits back down and puts his head on your shoulder. 

"It will be pretty lonely and well, frightening, but don't worry. How about this? We will write letters to each other everyday." you suggest.

"Yeah, let's do that. I'll miss you, sis." he says.

"Will miss you too.." you say.

"Mavis, how did I get chosen to be the alpha?" you ask standing in the bedroom after dinner.

"Oh! No, Nevil. You didn't get chosen. Your parents did." Mavis answers.

"Huh? What do you mean?" 

"The priest only comes into picture if the bloodline dies. The Alphas before your parents were killed. I think some political conflict. Not sure. That is why your parents were chosen. Thankfully you have continued their bloodline." Mavis explains.

"What about Ivail's?" you ask.

"Hmm.. I think Master has succeeded a long bloodline." 

"Oh.. Alright.. Thanks." 

"I thought you knew?"

"I probably forgot." you chuckle awkwardly.

The following day, Y/B leaves for the East City.
