the beginning of an origin

Cheering of the crowd can be heard as Miya twiddled her thumbs sitting on the bench waiting for her name to be called.

She looked younger than how she looked now .. she looked nervous.

"And the winner is Toshiro Sato!!!!!" The crowd went wild as the name of this person was announced.

"Hey there!" Miya flinched when she heard the sound of his voice.

When she looked up she saw a tall boy around her age with white hair, cyan eyes and he was wearing a turtleneck hoodie that almost covered his knees.

"First time?" He asked, sitting down next to her.

She nodded while looking at her hands as she trembled with the amount of anxiety she had pent up right now.

"The next contestants will be on stage shortly!!!" The guy shouted over the intercom hyping the crowd once more.

Miya looked up worried about what's going to happen…how would she do when she went up there.

"Hey.." Toshiro pats her head.

"Don't worry you got this." He said smiling.

"And who knows we might meet in the finals."

Miya smiles.

"Thanks.."

"NOW FOR MIKU ALVIE!!!!" The crowd went wild after the commentary.

Miya slowly got up from her seat and started to walk to the stage.

"Good luck!" She heard what Toshiro said before leaving to the stage.

We've been practicing for hours but it felt like minutes with the amount of fun we're having..sure Miya and oli's attacks hurt like hell and Gabriel swings the axe like a freaking lunatic but with those minor inconveniences out of the way i was having a great time!

I wonder if the tournament would also be like this i doubt it though-

"Oh!' I just realized something.

"Tom, since we're entering a tournament we're gonna need drifter gear right??" I asked with high hopes, Finally I could be a temporary drifter. That's like …almost my dream of working full time!

"Of course!" Tom said on the income and my mood immediately went through the roof in happiness. I was practically jumping at this point.

"So we get drifter gear, big deal-" Miya muttered in the background.

"I can beat those chumps without em!"

Of course she of all people won't see the appeal in getting drifter gear for the first time.

This is practically a once in a lifetime opportunity if you don't have the connections or can't work your way to the top on social status.

"Drifter gear would be useful." Oli said, nodding confidently.

"Ok guys lets go one more round for the day and we'll stop it at that ok?"

"Ok!" Everyone said in unison.

Weird, I have a feeling we are actually going to win this easily….. Is this what they call confidence?
