Chapter 48: Mad Dog

In their scheming to ruin Anthony as Cedric’s personal weapon, Brynn and Edwin had foreseen multiple possibilities. Most likely, they had thought their actions would merely drive a wedge between the Alpha and Beta, and they had hoped that would be enough to give them an edge in the coming battle.

Anthony being chained and imprisoned was a better outcome than either Brynn or Edwin had hoped for. Without Anthony, Cedric was vulnerable. The Alpha was strong, of course, but as Edwin had explained, it had been quite some time since he had to do his own bidding.

The scenario currently unfolding before her was one Brynn had not prepared for in the least. She should have anticipated it, she realized. A mad dog off its leash was a danger to everyone, not just its master.
