Chapter 38: Alpha's Blood

Brynn screamed and launched herself toward William in a full sprint. Rage rippled beneath her skin and violence blazed in her eyes. She was going to rip Anthony’s throat out. None of the mercy she had shown Garan. That had been a mistake.

And she would not make that mistake twice.

She called forth her wolf, eager to taste blood again.

Barely a second before she transformed, however, Anthony casually stepped into her path and held out a hand in warning.

“If you shift,” he said with a half-smile, “your friends will lose their throats before you can even turn around.”

Brynn froze and glanced backward. Indeed, a pair of massive wolves crouched behind Garan and Maeve, ready to pounce at any moment. She snarled.

‘So what?’ part of her thought. They had betrayed her. They were willing to hand William over to this pack … to hand HER over. She was their friend. They had come back for her, risking life and limb to get to her, just to now lure her straight into an ambush.
