Chapter 47: The Hidden Valley of Stone

Tristan

After retrieving the spear from the warehouse of other relics and antiques, along with a surprise that I had in store for Baltazar, we drove deeper into the mountains. He and his pack were waiting for us in the Hidden Valley of Stone. It was once sacred ground to ancient shifter Native Americans, whose people had died off long ago, or so the legend goes. My father had bought the land shortly after he and our pack were exiled here.

It was where I would face Baltazar, and I would end this rivalry once and for all. The Hidden Valley of Stone still had remnants of the ancient shifters; their houses built with slate and other stones. Some had survived, but not all. I felt a power resonating through these ancient houses as well as the moon. I would need that power tonight.

Honestly, I’d hoped that when we arrived, Baltazar and his pack wouldn’t be there, that they were the cowards I thought them to be. But Baltazar and his pack were there, waiting for us.
