26- The helpless Zhong Peng

The weight of disappointment settled heavily upon Zhong Peng's shoulders as he gazed at the battered blade.

With a heavy heart, Zhong Peng lifted the broken weapon from the box and examined it closely.

The blade was chipped and rusted, and the hilt was missing several pieces. It was clear that this was no great treasure, but rather a relic of a forgotten past, a remnant of a time long gone.

"In all seriousness, did you truly intend for me to go through all this for a broken sword?" Zhong Peng inquired, his disappointment palpable.

The old man had instilled within him a sense of eager anticipation, leading him to believe that the box's contents would be nothing short of a magnificent treasure. Alas, his hopes had been dashed.

"I never claimed it to be a precious treasure, what I said was that I felt a strong aura emanating from the box, and I can still feel it now " replied the old man.

As Zhong Peng was examining the sword he was cut by the sword as Zhong Peng inspected the sword that had sliced him with its sharp edges, he beheld that despite the sword being broken, it yet maintained its keenness. His blood dripped upon the sword, and strangely, it was absorbed by the weapon.

As soon as the sword had drawn in his blood, he felt his consciousness being tugged by the sword, and the vista before him altered.

He found himself transported to an ancient battlefield, where he espied a man whose armor bore the same dragon engraving.

This man wielded the same sword but it wasn't broken and the gauntlet was also in his right hand.

As Zhong Peng was scrutinizing the man, he noticed an inexplicable aura emanating from the man, a palpable sense of antiquity that seemed to permeate the air around him. Suddenly, the man spoke, his voice laced with bitterness and resentment. " Why did heaven decide to curse me with such a worthless inheritor " he exclaimed, sizing Zhong Peng up and down with a piercing gaze.

The man's words echoed through the air, hanging heavily like the weight of a thousand years of regret and disappointment.

Zhong Peng could feel the weight of the man's words pressing down on him, and he wondered what kind of burden this ancient being had been forced to bear.

With a tone of helplessness and desperation, Zhong Peng addressed the man before him, his words laced with a sense of urgency.

"Good sir, I am afraid I do not comprehend your talk of an inheritor, but I implore you to return me to my world. I have endured enough of being kidnapped and taken away to unfamiliar lands," he beseeched.

The weight of his words hung heavily in the air, a plea born of the fear and uncertainty that had plagued him since his unexpected arrival in this strange and unknown realm. The man regarded him with a cold, calculating gaze, and for a moment, Zhong Peng felt a sense of dread wash over him.

" Why, is heaven yet still wrathful with my kind? What reason has it found to bestow upon me an heir so utterly useless?" cried the man, his voice filled with not only disappointment but also with a wave of deep-seated anger and a heart-wrenching sense of loss.

Zhong Peng could not help but feel a great deal of sympathy for the man, and he pondered with great curiosity the trials and tribulations that this man must have endured.

"Could you at least tell me why you transported me here " implored Zhong Peng, his countenance bearing a helpless expression, as he realized that there were no feasible means by which he could compel the man to return him to his previous location.

" I have been waiting here for ten thousand years waiting for a Worthy inheritor to inherit my inheritance and continue my lineage, and it looks like you are the one I've been waiting for, " the man said helplessly, Zhong Peng could still sense the disappointment in his voice.

" I am a man !!, I can't get pregnant how am I supposed to continue your lineage " Zhong Peng said, many wild thoughts were running across his mind.

Upon hearing what Zhong Peng said, the man emitted a deep sigh, and his countenance fell as he shook his head in utter disappointment. He was utterly incredulous, he couldn't believe what he just heard.

" I want to make it clear that what you understood from my words is not what I intended to convey. Rather, when you receive my inheritance, you will also inherit my bloodline, which is an inseparable part of my legacy "

Despite his disappointment, he has no alternative but to move forward, as there is no possibility of reversing the course now.

As the man's hand made a sweeping motion, a solitary droplet of crimson liquid was generated.

In an instant, the scarlet fluid was extracted from the man's body, and as it happened, Zhong Peng's ears were met with a thunderous bellow that sounded like a dragon's roar. A gargantuan force descended upon Zhong Peng's shoulders, causing him to struggle to inhale and exhale. The weight of this imposing power was nothing short of overwhelming, and it left the unfortunate Zhong Peng feeling utterly breathless.
