Aiden Thompson's Many Suitors

The day of the court hearing to grant Aiden the Letter of Guardianship finally arrived.

For once, Liam was dressed like a tiny gentleman. Aiden bought him a set of checkered brown suits, a dark red bowtie, and also a pair of shining shoes that the little boy found very uncomfortable. They even made loud clacking noises whenever he walked on the court floor.

The only comfort that Liam had was that Aiden held his hand all the way to the courtroom. The latter himself had never been dressed so neatly before. Not even during the Supreme Court trial, when he wore the Highgate prison's uniform.

The judge in charge was an experienced law practitioner in family court. He pored through the paper in front of him and then started asking Liam a series of questions.

"What is your name?"

"Liam."

"What is your surname?"

Liam shook his head, "Don't know."

"What can you tell me about your birth parents?"

"Mama was killed by vampires. I do not have a Papa."

The judge noted down Liam's answer.
