BICKERING

Christian was groaning and shifting in his place as he was driving the car with a stranger sitting next to him in the passenger seat. It was supposed to be Kristen but before she could get in, the man did it himself saying else he would sit only with her at the back. Christian had to push Kristen to the back seat to avoid that. Geez, he was not enjoying the awkward environment, he was in.

"Are you okay? Do you perhaps want to use the washroom or something?" Lucifer asked as he was observing the man being restless since the start.

"No?" He deadpanned before staring at the rearview mirror and Kristen gulped.

"Then why are you groaning? Still drunk from the night?"

"H-how do you know? W-wait, why do you care?" He hesitantly spoke and Kristen just coughed, reminding him to be polite.

"Of course, I care. Because of it, I lost my sleep."

"Did I snore that loud?' He asked himself but it came out louder than expected making the others laugh.

"Hey! Snoring is normalized since so long." He defended his side.

"Y-your snoring would have been better but no." Lucifer said but he had to stop when the girl hit his hands quickly.

"Stop talking. My head h-hurts." She said immediately.

"I was the one who got drunk so why is your head hurting?"

"Didn't get enough sleep because of you."

"WHAT?"

Christian suddenly stomped on the break, not even caring if he was in the middle of the road or if there was a signal. He quickly looked at the man next to him and then back at Kristen with questionable eyes. Lucifer surely got the meaning behind his stare but Kristen was confused. He tossed his head at the both of them like watching a tennis match, his hands gripping the steering wheel tighter.

"Answer!" He said again, gritting his teeth.

"Can you stop the car to the side? Like the horns are making me deaf." Lucifer softly spoke while pointing at the cars behind.

"I need an answer Mr and Miss." He said, starting the car and driving to the side lane.

"Can you quit being so dramatic? I can't believe you are still a baby."

"Hey, you both grownups didn't sleep all night because of me? That demands an explanation." He strictly said, turning to her guardian.

"T-that is because my room was uncomfo-rtable." She lied not wanting to explain the details.

'What happened to your room? Even if there is a problem, you should have woken me up. My room was there too."

"Are you offended that she chose me?" Lucifer asked as he was clearly enjoying it.

"Are you saying that you didn't force her for it?"

"Why would I force her? I just helped her out when you didn't do it. Am I, not a good friend?" He kept provoking Christian.

"I didn't know, okay? If I knew I had done it myself. I am the one who booked her the room and even took care of her." He spat back with the same intensity.

"Then why did you make her stand outside at midnight? You should have taken her to your room."

'How would I know? She didn't tell me anything."

"Is it because she trusts me more?"

"Can you both STOP it? Where is this conversation going now?" Kristen asked as she slid forward from her seat to them.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Christian asked, ignoring Lucifer who had a smug smile on his face.

"I did knock on your door for a while, but you didn't open. Don't get angry at me for this." She frowned.

"You should have given me a call."

"Your phone was off, I tried that too."

"See, you didn't help her at all. How irresponsible are you?' Lucifer asked.

"And you, I didn't ask you for help. You asked me to sleep in your room and even dragged me there." She said pointing at Lucifer who immediately went silent.

"So it is true that you forced her. Why did you force her?'

"Hey, you expected me to leave my friend alone without a room at night? I was being a gentleman and doing your duty so I expect you to be thankful."

"Never, you just used the chance."

"Dude, you were literally drunk and then passed out too. What could have I done in that situation?"

"Why are we having this conversation now? We need to get back, it is already late." Kristen said clapping her hands to gain their attention.

"Just because we are busy." Christian mumbled before starting the car again.

"Same."

"What is happening?" Christian asked as he noticed the unexpected traffic block.

"Block?"

"I can see that, dude." he snapped.

"Then why would you ask, Mr. Shorty?" Lucifer asked with a grin.

"I swear to God, I hate this man. Lilah, ask him to shut his mouth before I throw him out."

"You guys are annoying me, for real. Behave like grown-ups for once."

"OHH CRAP!" Christian shouted as he heard a gun fire.

"Another attack?" Lucifer asked as he unbuckled his seat belt.

"Where are you going? Do you want to die?" Christian asked as he did the same.

"Then what are you going to do? Are you planning to die too?"

"I know to take care of myself."

"Even I know."

"You both sit here and bicker, I will go and check." Kristen said as she already ran outside scaring both of them.

"What is with her now?" Lucifer cursed as he jumped out of the car.

"Dude, I do not like but I had still advice you to stay here and hide. We will handle this."

"Are you cops or something? Because I have never seen any humans run into a scene without any preparation."

"We are special." He ran behind Kristen and Lucifer just sighed before jumping on top of the truck which was in front of him, to see what was happening.

"Bloody hell." He cursed seeing two men all covered in black, pointing guns at the crowd and three people already covered in blood.

His eyes widened when he noticed Lilah standing in front of the crowd now and staring at the men.

"What is with her?" He ran over the cars, practically flying to the center as he slid down the car in front.
