MMORPG: Strongest Assassin Online

VRMMORPG: Nova Online was launched on November 26 2035, the game was widely played with an estimated number of players of almost a billion since its release.

All rich people had quickly followed the trend and bought a VR helmet of the highest grade and played the game.

From people's experience and live stream, the game was extremely difficult and it's impossible for real life money to be used to purchase in-game items, you would have to strive and work for the items, but it was still an enjoyable game.

The game allowed players to live steam, and that alone horded more people to purchase the game and join the trend.

The VR helmet could only be used by a single user, making it unique and different from other VR games.

"Nova Online!!" a boy who was known as Gabriel shouted and attracted the attention of people around.

He quickly lowered his voice and kept his head down as people around stared at him with obviously discomfort.

"Yes, tomorrow I'm buying the bronze VR helmet," Alex said with a sly smile.

Alex was a 20 years old college student, he has stunning facial features, with his delicate eyebrows and smooth-looking skin, his black curly hair waves when the wind blows by.

He wasn't muscular in any way, instead he had a rather slim body, he wore a black jacket that protected him from the cold breeze that blew in the city.

This fact didn't go unnoticed as girls and women would often steal glances at him when he passes wishing they had a boyfriend or a son like him.

"How did you save the money to buy that?" Gabriel asked in surprise.

"I worked hard for it, I worked two jobs and besides it's the lowest rank I'm buying" Alex sighed as he remembered the stress he went through to earn money.

"Even though it's the lowest rank, it still cost 1,000 dollars" Gabriel spoke before a sound made both of them turn around.

"Nova Online had become the highest played game In the world in just four months of its release, how did you guys make that happen?" a female news anchor asked with an eager face.

Alex and Gabriel stopped to look at the Large screen on a skyscraper along with many other people.

The screen showed a popular face, a celebrity that was neither an actor nor was he a singer, but he was the owner of the VR company that developed the most popular and highest played game called Nova Online.

"Well it's all due to the hard work that everyone at the company put in" the young man spoke with calm and clear composure.

"We now have over a billion players worldwide" the man spoke.

"A billion players worldwide!, damn that's so cool," Gabriel said as he looked at the screen wishing he was the one that was being interviewed.

"Tomorrow I'm going to join that 1 billion players" Alex closed his eyes and inhaled the cool air that blew around the city.

"We should get going, we don't want to be late" Alex told Gabriel and they both continued walking.

Alex turned to take a look at the screen one last time and an Ad of the game was shown, a player was battling with a beast.

Alex smiled and kept walking towards his destination.

Cool breeze blew in the city of Woodpine, lofty skyscrapers soared towards the sky in a monotonous pattern, captivating and mesmerizing as the people in the street were going about their daily life.

The city of Woodpine was famous for its landmark, a large garden of pine trees stood tall with over 20 trees in the center of the city, tourist often comes to the city just to see the sight.

"Hey Alex" a woman greeted him.

"Good evening Miss Rose" Alex greeted back before entering his apartment.

Alex was your normal college student, bright but not straight A, just some few B and C, he lived alone in a small apartment rented and paid for by his parents.

He attends the Woodpine college which was slightly far from his apartment. Alex sat down greedily munching on the burger and fries he bought on his way home.

'Am I really going to spend a thousand dollars to buy the VR helmet, or I should just leave it' Alex pondered.

'No I've already made up my mind to buy it tomorrow' Alex laid down on his bed with his phone after eating, and eventually he drifted off to sleep.

Then-

*Boom*

A loud bang cause Alex to shiver in fear, as he looked around himself.

Everything around him had quickly turn into a gortesque form, and he couldn't tell if it was reality or not.

That was when he saw it!!

A human–no that wasn't an ordinary human, it looks like a vampire with razor sharp teeth and claws, with blood flowing down it's mouth as he held a woman.

"Alex run" the woman shouted.

"W-What...Mum" Alex shouted, "Mum I'm not leaving you, mum...mum"

Alex tried to reach his mother but his feet were stuck in his current position, something was holding him down and he couldn't move further.

The woman struggled to break free from the clutches of the so called vampire but she was weak, eventually a hand was plunged into her chest and she lost consciousness.

"M-Mum No..." Alex screamed loudly and opened his eyes.

His body jerked up from the bed and he breathed heavily, sweat cover his entire body as he looked around his apartment in relief.

"W-What kind of nightmare was that..." Alex said still breathing heavily, he got down from his bed and went straight to his bathroom.

He splashed cold water on his face which calmed him down a little, then he took off his clothes and dipped himself in warm water.

'What is that creature, I've been watching too many scary movies lately, I should pause on that... haa...this water is really refreshing' Alex sighed as he made himself comfortable in his bathtub.

After resting for a while he took his bath and came out of the bathroom.

'The sun came up today, that's a relief...I don't really like the chilly weather'

The left over from his food last night was still on the ground, he quickly cleared them and used his vacuum to clean his entire room.

Alex had always loved clean environment since he was a kid, and now that he was alone it was paying off, no girl would visit his apartment and not be amazed.

He never leaves his room dirty and unattended to, that was one of the things his parents loved about him.

Alex carefully arranged his room before proceeding to the kitchen to fix something for himself. He wore only his underwear as he prepare breakfast for himself.

He had just finished his semester in college, and he was now on vacation, and planning to enter the world of Nova Online.
